Mexico hols on Friday ... GULP !!!!

I`m discussing the probability of more earthquakes in Mexico my friend. This will be our first time there and seriously looking forward to some, sea, sand, beers and snorkelling.
I noticed from the weather reports for Puerto Aventuras for the next 10 days, that its sunny but everyday has thunderstorms,so do I assume that we`re not coming into the best time of the year for continual sunbathing. ;)
Can't speak for the rest of the country but , from what i Understand, where you are going isn't prone to earthquakes. As for the weather, I don't know much but seems like is coming to the last month of the wet season - so probably be short but heavy rainfall at times, but this will clear the air....

From August to November is hurricane season in the Caribbean. Due to the high temperatures and the humidity, every afternoon there are pop up thunderstorms that develop. They can be more widespread or very sporadic...it is that time of the year.

I was there a few weeks ago and it was beautiful, but like Orlando, the afternoons can be a bit stormy, then clear up for a humid night under the stairs drinking cerveza!

The epicenter was in Puebla which is about 750 miles from Cancun. According to this https://www.timeanddate.com/worldclock/distances.html?n=302
that is about the equivalent of the distance between eg Manchester and Milan. So if there was an earthquake in Milan, would it be safe for someone to travel to Manchester?
it does not work like that, its not like a brick in a pond it does not follow concentric lines, it follows faults. either way mexico is not a good place to be for at least a few weeks . it should calm down soon....ish

erm..guess where I'm writing from? lol .though i take your point AND Cancun is not known to be a particularly active seismic zone...yes, there are still aftershocks being felt in Chiapas but everyday life continues. Oaxaca, Puebla and Mexico City I will give a miss for a while....

You survived the mass destruction of Winsford shopping centre and the fires on Wharton gardens
You have nothing to fear mate :+)

deliberately brilliant and criminally ignored, or just a happy accident?

Spent a week in Cancun many moons ago and hated the place with a passion but thats probably more to do with the woman i spent the week with and the fact it was American spring break time as well so have no desire to ever go back.

That said its a terrible tragedy and thoughts and prayers are with all those affected.
