Micah Richards the pundit

Except 'Black Lives Matter' has a political agenda. Go to their website and they'll tell you what it is: defunding police, historical revisionism etc etc.

Anyone who thinks Black Lives Matter is just an innocent slogan is naive --- and that's the problem.
Not to inject reality into your slogan bashing, but I must have missed the 400 years of “innocence” in the slave trade and subsequent injustice found in the racist world in which we live.

BLM is a rallying cry. It is LITERALLY a statement that should not need saying, but IS SAID, because black lives are treated as if they do not matter.

I’m a middle-aged white guy who is a staunch supporter of law and order, but I have nothing but hope and praise for BLM, and hope their calls to demilitarize the police, divert some of that funding to the social services needed more than heavy handed police officers whose first instinct is often subdue and overpower, even when not needed.

Britain may feel more like a melting pot, and more racially sensitive and mixed, but the INSTITUTIONAL racism faced by nearly all people of color in almost every walk of life needs to change.

Please don’t inject negative racist overtones into the ideals of BLM. Sure, there will be people who attach themselves to the cause who are outliers, but I think, as a society, we have to allow for a pendulum swing that MAY swing slightly further than one wishes for a short while, as we all come to terms with what a colorblind society should look like, and strive to help create it.

Black people are not the enemy, yet we treat them as if they are. I’m glad to see young heads (Micah) and even old hard heads (Souness) are open to embracing the change needed, both within the game and the wider society...outside Burnley, of course!!!

Michael is a breath of fresh air and he'll calm down soon. Its good to get someone else on there that isn't ex united or Liverpool. He does need a bigger coat though. Though he was going to rip the seems everything he put the mic to his mouth
He didn't need a coat at all! It's June and was about 14 degrees. :)

Very good post.
I do think a divide between the USA and Britain needs to acknowledged, though it is one of degree.
Micah spoke passionately about the subject.

I have just watched the CNN "banner" report, which covered it well.

My feeling is that his comment on Foden was ill advised, but some of the grief he's getting on here is incredible. He's still learning his trade, and hasn't mastered the art of gently but firmly shutting down a leading question that he doesn't want to answer (or doesn't have the answer to).

Again,! it wasn't a question, he started the conversation .
If he was answering a question he would not have got the "grief" from me.

So i agree with you his comment on phil was ill advised :)
.

Nothing to do with his injuries then?

I think Zaba had overtaken him by that point, just my opinion that whilst Micah's physicality, athleticism and rampaging nature were very effective, Zaba developed an understanding and awareness that gave him more longevity regardless. To be fair to Micah, Zaba went on to be the best right back in the league for several seasons, but it was just something I felt he never fully developed.

To be honest, my issue with a lot of biased pundits is that they pretend they aren't (Here's look at you Gary Neville). As annoying as the ones who aren't hiding it can be you can at least acknowledge they aren't trying to bullshit you. I'm grateful Richards is open about his affiliations.

Has a great attitude, doesn't take himself to seriously, and unlike the vast majority of ex rag and dipper pundit's he isn't a boring cúnt.

Has anyone got a link to his first BBC interview after he FA cup game at Villa in which He had scored?

He is always great on the beeb, sky clearly give him a script
Agree. Whenever I’ve seen him on Sky I just think he’s parroting what he’s been told to and that’s exactly what Sky like (hence why Summerbee was never invited back). Shame he’s sold out as he always comes across well when he’s being genuine on other platforms.
