Micah Richards the pundit

All this talk about Phil rarely getting a game is exaggerated.

He's only 20 years old and has played nearly 100 times for us now, in all competitions. He's won 6 domestic trophies (not counting the Community Shields), scored 21 goals, and has broken into the England team. He's the youngest ever winner of the Premier League, I think ?

I really don't think we're holding him back / ruining his career.

His time will come

Bizarre that some are slagging Micah off, who do you prefer, Shearer, Murphy, Merson, Owen, Lawrenson, Keane, Carragher, Neville! People need to get some perspective.
I prefer Sounness Rosenior Proven and was very impressed with Onuoha.

I’m not arsed if a pundit played for us, I’m only bothered about a pundit talking sense and being insightful and technical with their punditry.

I like Micah’s personality, he’s great, a top bloke. But he’s not a good pundit. Although I’d still much rather see him to anyone on your list! The standard of punditry has meant I’ve stopped watching pre-halftime-post match analysis.

i’m not sure i agree. Foden gets a free pass when he plays terribly, against Leeds he looked lost in the midfield. He has had good games and bad games and indifferent games.

Mahrez has won us some games with his goals but it all seems to get forgotten when he misses a chance by the people on here in particular. I think some city fans have had it in for Mahrez from the moment he missed the penalty at Anfield.

The way I look at it is this, Mahrez is a player with obvious ability and so is Foden. Mahrez is more experienced, has been around the premier league a long time and pretty much always plays in the same position on the right. Foden is young has been played in lots of different roles and is still new to it all.

Who has more scope to improve on the lack of consistency? mahrez will always be mahrez now. How does Foden gain more consistency and experience? The answer seems pretty obvious but as he’s young it’s a much easier choice to drop him more often.

Mahrez and Sterling get far more leeway when they aren’t performing for long periods of time. Foden hasn’t even had that opportunity yet.

Been enjoyable watching Micah and Keane tonight. I don't mind Keane as a pundit and respect him for saying it as he sees it. I hated him as a player but credit where credits due.

I was just thinking the same.. most I’ve enjoyed Sly Sports punditry in years. Micah has been really funny and I actually really like Keane (obviously not a player) as a pundit.. he doesn’t seem to have that “set them up, lay traps mentality” ala Neville. Obviously wants utd to win which is fair enough but is pretty impartial with his cretic.

Apart from Micah mentioning the 50 million that John Stones cost.

Only time money was mentioned directly, I.e. cost of a player. Got a sense he was trying to endear himself to them, and clearly trying to keep a job, got the impression from that anchor woman’s responses he is on probation. If he had anything about him he could have said
“Stones looks a bargain at 50m when compared to many other PL centre backs”

guess he wouldnt get the final gig though and he knows it
