Yet it’s Micah Richards who is getting stick from so many supporters of the club he served for years as a youth player, first team player, club rep and captain. It’s Micah who has got over 300 pages of Blues poring over every word he says and thinking up new and creative excuses for why they don’t like him, even though he loves our club and helped get us where we are now.

All of the above pundits you mention are totally biased towards their respective clubs and go above and beyond, to both praise and defend them. Richards does neither for City.

Present company excepted, but going off some of the comments on this thread - including nonsense about ‘box ticking’, he could turn up looking like Pete the Badge and some would still have it in for him.

He's doing a cracking job of talking up City and speaking out on big issues, exactly the sort of person we need on TV. He brings some lightheartedness to the panel too.

He's been on Sky and BBC a few times now and he's been brilliant every time, keep it up Micah!

Watched last nights final on CBS where Henry, Carragher and Micah have become a good panel for all their CL coverage. What was clear without any UK broadcasting bias was that they all enjoy each others company, took the piss out of each other and Kate Abdo, and it was a good watch without Rio.

The whole club-biased pundit thing is infuriating, wish Sky would just stop it. Expecting Micah to be totally pro-City is equally as annoying. On CBS, even Carragher toned down the professional Scouser routine.

Ah well - that 2007 interview puts it all to bed. There are plenty of "things" you are right - taken in isolation.... But taken with the whole - there's not much he brings other than as the fun house clown that isn’t particularly funny - he's absolutely appalling as a pundit.
The vacuous, inane, laddie roadtrip shite is probably more his calling. I suppose he saves on canned laughter.

Well it puts to bed the nonsense that he has been trying to hide his split loyalties as does his comments on the rest is football podcast.

As for the rest as I said earlier his punditry is not my bag but he still comes across as a very cheerful, fun, positive individual who is very difficult to dislike, add his history with the club the mind boggles why he invokes such dislike from people.

Take your blue specs off, mate. Micah’s a clown. His past service counts for nothing in his media career. Any “insights” from Richards will be flashed up on autocue or fed down his earphones. Neville has ten times his IQ and is ten times the pundit.

If you want a proper pundit who was also a Blue, look no further than Nedum Onuha. Different league but doesn’t appeal to the Only Way is Essex generation.
