Micah Richards the pundit

Thought maybe he’d use that feedback to reflect on himself and perhaps wonder why fans of his so called club would complain about him?

What was I thinking.. egotistical clown. Should be nowhere near us in the media, just like the rest of them (apart from Nedum who is brilliant)

You know you're fucked when your head doesn't fit the webcam you've just bought.

Seemingly gets the job because he's a "character" with a big daft laugh.

Dunno why though, it's not like I've even heard anyone ever praise him for it.

Roy Keane probably divides opinion in terms of his punditry style, he's obviously playing up to the role these days with his criticisms, a bit of a pantomime act now, but at least there's a certain amount of people that like it

Richards seems to offer nothing at all. I cant imagine there's a single football fan that would care one way or the other if he worked again or not.

Richards has got his 'Big Meeks' brand going and he's making hay while the sun shines. In fairness to him though he was generally liked when at City it wasn't as if he had legendary status so in taking the approach he has it's not like he's setting fire to a huge legacy.

I don't think he's employed by the club in any permanent capacity(?) so I imagine it's fairly simple for the club to just not use him going forward. Probably the simplest and most dignified way to approach it? Perhaps they think his involvement in things like FFC or other social initiatives are beneficial to the club's image so are not that concerned about fan perception.

I doubt this will give either him or us any sleepless nights. He's just a bloke who's managed for the time being to carve a niche in football punditry and any meaningful connection to City fans appears to be a thing of the past.

A character with a big daft laugh you say.
Maybe big Frank Bruno might get the gig after Richards is fucked off.
Probably not any worse with his footballing knowledge

HE strikes me he's a bloke that will do anything for money and can't quite believe how he has got away with it for so long.

Personally I find him repulsive on all levels, listen to this fat lump talk football then go and listen to Nedum, the latter is a gentleman and gives a wonderful intelligent insight into the game he clearly loves, the former is the king of soundbites and tired old jokes, incredible he gets the work he does.

For the avoidance of doubt I wasn't defending him. The level of exposure Richards gets compared to Onuoha gets tells you everything you need to know about the state of football punditry.

Have defended him a lot but this is bad.

I think the thing that is most damning about that is it's obviously a workplace joke that they are all in on, including him. You'd have to assume they have collectively chuckled over his City relationship/income stream on more than one occasion, for her to feel able to share the joke on screen.

Those god awful We Buy Any Car adverts are absolute proof of that.

Richards has openly discussed, and laughed about, how he never signed onto the “only this channel” contract and is a freelancer who will travel anywhere for a gig.

I was a very early detractor and find him to be the stereotype of the “gobby footballer” of his era, spouting nonsense at volume 11, and playing the “everyone’s friend” clown for the laughs. He brings almost ZERO football knowledge to the game and has traded stories of his time at City during the new era for an ascending place in the punditry arena…with the know-nothing crowd.

Nedum, on the other hand, is happy to be part of the banter, but when it comes time to talk football, he provides measured opinions, keen insight and a level-headed approach to the gig, even though he readily acknowledges where his allegiance lies. However, he is no City sycophant and uses his brain, not his allegiance, to both discuss the club and criticize it at times.

Nedum is, by some margin, the best young punditry talent on the rise. I wish him continued success and hope TV continues to reward merit, quality football knowledge and good humor, rather than the OTT buffoonery offered by CBS, and Micah in particular!

Considering he isn't really in our corner we are better to sack him off. He will then reveal his true colours and hate on us of course, but as he doesn't really have our backs he can do one.

You're spot on about Nedum but he'd never sell his arse and be loud brash and knobby to play up to an audience, and he is too blue too.

All cracking lads but none of them sound like compares on an American game show or used car lot.
