Just listened to his comments on Paqueta's sending off - I suppose he's right about the team dimension but his delivery is just excruciating.
He’s just not intelligent enough to deliver his often wrong opinion, his main strengthJust listened to his comments on Paqueta's sending off - I suppose he's right about the team dimension but his delivery is just excruciating.
Sadly, he’s not inoffensive. He’s a childish prick whose main through line in last season’s CL coverage was his reaction every time the team Brest were mentioned.Regardless of whether you agree with him, what he says, or how he behaves, he's an inoffensive guy just trying to earn a living, playing a role in the media.
Add to that, whether we like it or not, there is money to be made on taking an anti-City stance.
Why do you think so many of them do it?

Didn't like him when he played for us. Thought he was a waste of space then.Sadly, he’s not inoffensive. He’s a childish prick whose main through line in last season’s CL coverage was his reaction every time the team Brest were mentioned.

Yes, THAT ^^^^ is how big of a thing it became! They made him a shirt on the show! Talk about stupidity and stealing a living!
Wasn't he also accused, along with a mate, in an alleged spit-roasting incident with a teenaged fan in a hotel toilet and getting dropped for England by Capello, yet is now earning big money shouting about himself being “Big Meeks” and tittering like an 11 year old when the French team is mentioned?
He’s a fucking embarrassment and I’m glad he calls himself a fan of another team. City should drop ANY relationship with him whatsoever, because it only suits when Vity win or he can cash in on it!!!
Much like any young Blue who breaks through, we sometimes have romanticized memories of who they were. He was an uncouth, no brain, battering ram, who was quickly surplus to requirements once we acquired a real RB in Zabba.Didn't like him when he played for us. Thought he was a waste of space then.
Muscle bound lump only time in his career when he was effective was probably as a oversized for his age kid playing through the England youth systemDidn't like him when he played for us. Thought he was a waste of space then.
Pretty much bang on , still can’t stand the ****. I cringe when he tries to analyse games. Ruined match of the day, if he hadn’t blagged this gig he’d be working in a gym or similar. It's what the world of TV entertainment is these days and Richards is the embodiment of it. Look at what passes for entertainment. Get a group of guys together and let them behave like children. You end up with programmes like A League of Their Own and Rob and Romesh vs. It's only natural it spills over into football punditry with the common denominator being Sky
20s?Blokes approaching his 40s but acting like he’s in his 20s.
Carragher etc are even worse!
20s?
Carragher and Neville?Let’s be honest and I take no pleasure in saying this he’s an uncle tom. Look at Ned, Joleon, even SWP, objective, intelligent, honest. Richards is a court fool for the “clever” white guys.
Expert football pundits/ legends are just the same as a few pissed up fans chatting footy shit in the pub & make more senseIt's what the world of TV entertainment is these days and Richards is the embodiment of it. Also by his own admission should have worn contact lenses or glasses when he was playing his eyesight was that bad but wouldn’t, so he’s stupid and selfish..Much like any young Blue who breaks through, we sometimes have romanticized memories of who they were. He was an uncouth, no brain, battering ram, who was quickly surplus to requirements once we acquired a real RB in Zabba.
Sadly, today, he’s still an uncouth, no brain, battering ram, non-player, who should be surplus to requirements at Paramount +, but seeing as they’ve just got the CL monopoly, I’m sure he’ll stay as part of their team…which is bad for even more global viewers than it is today!
That's even worse; switching sides. Like his mate Carragher, who was an Everton fan as a kid. Just how do you do that? There were plenty of times in the late 80s and through the 90s when switching sides could have been tempting. But you just don't do it. You pick your team as a snotty little brat, and you stick with them.He said last week on CBS that he wanted to put things straight as City fans were giving him grief…
He said, “as a child growing up he was indeed an Arsenal fan, but he became and still is now, a City fan”
