Micah Richards

3 clean sheets in a week.

I'm not moaning. If we want to improve let's not kid ourselves. The woodwork has been rattled 4 times this week and Shay pulled off a great save today. But this, like your post, has no relevance to my original point; Micah just like Dunney isn't good enough (on a consistent basis) for a top 6 team.

I think yer right Skibum. He had a sound match on the whole but you could see quite clearly the reasons why Capello doesn't pick him for the England squad.

poor game for richards in 2nd half. let too many crosses come in, positioning / awareness / concentration can be issues at times and lost out on a few headers. looked OK in 1st, but its an area that needs looking at.

neds is the best rb at the club, he should play there imo

God knows how he wasn't subbed....with half an hour to go it was obvious that he was f*cked, could barely jog let alone run and we were genuinely scared whenever Wolves had the ball as Micah couldn't get near anyone who was running.

Why didn't Hughes change him? We had a substitution left unused...

I'm assuming that it is a lack of match fitness due to the swine flu affecting his pre-season, so hopefully this will sort itself out as until he made the run forward that left him for dead I was impressed by his performance.

not as good as Zab, simples, dont see why Hughes prefers to play Richards tbh, probably be through fear of losing him

Where would we be without the weekly "Richards is shit" thread? [rolls eyes]
I dunno where would we be? Please contribute by all means.
If he wasn't in the team I suppose these threads would be redundant.

To me he seems a lot more up for it this season, is working hard on closing the crosses down, was helping out the CBs in the box whenever needed, was not just rushing forward when there was no need for it, he appears a little bit quicker off mark and is concentrating more. I was very critical of him last season but I thought he did well today. I guess different people see things differently. I also absolutely love Zab even though he is not perfect. I think that we got RB position nicely covered this season and are lucky to have them both in the team.
