Micah Richards

I think it was Micah's poor positional play - not returning to the right back position fast enough after a sortie upfield which led to the first half problems. The two centre backs had to move too far apart to cover against Watford's three up front and led to the gaps that Watford exploited for their two goals. Zab had to replace Micah, and Fernandinho being missing meant there was little cover in front of the back four. I thought it was a masterstroke from Pellegrini to bring Kompany on at CB and to move Demichelis to DM.

Demechellis into midfield a masterstroke - really!
Are you being serious ??

Im pretty sure there first came from the opposite side to Micah if i remember rightly ??

Did you not watch the 2nd half?

Yes all of it mate and if you think DM is a good midfielder then i know where there's a bagfulll, what exactly did he do that you thought was so impressive ??
Kompany was the only sub in my opinion who had the major impact on the game but DM in midfield just doesn't do it for me im afraid,im not that keen on him in his preferred position either tbh.

Vinnie the only sub who made an impact? God knows what match you were watching, were you at the stadium, if not you don't get the full perspective of everyone's work.

Vinnie, no question was a rock in the 2nd half and helped Lescott a lot more! However, Zab was more restricted with his runs than Richards meaning we got the best out of Navas. Zabaleta made those forward runs but also got back in position when required - which Micah Richards didn't do. And Demichelis was fantastic in the midfield role, of which he isn't a stranger to, he did 100x more than Rodwell did in the 1st half. He broke up play, linked up well with the defence, sat in when Vinnie went forward, which all enabled Yaya to me more expressive with how he wanted to play.

I also have to add Jovetic played very well, considering his game time this season. He likes to come deep for the ball, like Silva, however he does add more of a goal threat. I'd like to see Jovetic step into the Nasri role whilst he's injured but not sure I can see him forcing Navas or Silva out of the team at the present moment. Yesterday Jovetic made the first goal, collecting the ball and playing in Kolarov for the cross. His movement at some points in the game was fantastic with the space he found himself in.

...So, to tell me Vinnie was the only good substitution yesterday. You need to look to what each individual does on the field, including those who don't normally get credit for their work, similar to Barry/Ferna!

At last someone on bluemoon that understands football, well said. Although the first goal started from Navas who went across the back 4 with pace and played Jovetic in.

Good shout about Kieran trippier. Burnley mate raves about him.

Spot on summary of the second half and the effect the sub and positional changes had

The worst thing about him is he doesn't think at all, the number of times he just runs to underlap or overlap navas at all the wrong times just kills the attacking play. Instead of staying back sometimes when he should he just underlaps navas bringing a player with him and crowding the area out and therefore leaving navas with no options.
