Michael Johnson.....

Such a shame but that is life. But he had or has so much talent though, his capabailties were off the roof and who knows how things would have transpired without the injury demon. (johnson and yaya in that midfield would have been glorious). I am not exagerating when i say that he is more talented than lampard or gerrard. A manchester lad as well.

Micheal Johnson is still young and with the right support and attitude, he could certainly see this heap of dissapointment and frustration as a stepping stone to a different path and level, where he can achieve great things in life.

There are options for him in football such as coaching and public work. Maybe he can resume his career at another club, you never know.

Education is also a very desirable and in my opinion fruitful option.

Good luck Micheal, all the best for the future and may God give you strength.

Shame to hear of his troubles. Good piece on the BBC website about him:

There was a report about him on radio 5 live this afternoon. I was not really paying attention as I was busy shovelling snow off my driveway but I caught the phrase "thrown on the scrap-heap". I hope they were not making out that City had not done enough for him.

Wouldn't surprise me if that's what they said mate.

No one outside of those who dealt with him in the club no what we did for him but I cannot imagine us simply saying if you don't want our help then fuck off. I can only see us offering him help mentally and physically all the way along.

That's EXACTLY what I thought.

When I saw him in the early days particularly against Derby I thought he was the real deal and the next sensation from the academy.

He has had his problems but i didn't know if his career is over due to his knee injury. If it isn't then hopefully he can make a comeback at a lower level and give it his best shot.

With regards his problems off the pitch, then you can only hope that he gets the best support and overcomes them and that the future is good for him.

Now gone into the Estate Agents trade, opened a Trading Places shop with his City fan mate Steve Cox on Flixton Rd. Urmston
After opening his restaurant in Didsbury it looks as though he is branching out into other businesses and is doing well for himself, good on the lad, he looked washed up a few years ago
His new shop opens Saturday 17th January

Good luck to the lad, it didn't work out for him football wise but let's hope he now just gets on with life and makes a success of it all. Go for it Michael lad.
