Michael Olise | Bayern Munich Player

Big no from me. 1 open goal in 37 PL apps last season. Don`t think this guy is much better than Palmer or Bobb. The two latter would also have loads of PL experience if they played for a non top 6 team. We need either a winger that could come in and be an immediate starter in the side, or push Bernardo out wide permanently and sign a new midfielder. At best, I think Olise would only be a tiny upgrade on Palmer/Bobb

Bobb and Palmer already know how we play also. Buy Olise and chances are you've got that year of settling in before any kind of decent returns (which aren't guaranteed either).

He's looked a decent player to me whenever I've seen Palace. To be honest, for their level, Olise, Ayew and Zaha and a very good front 3 but they are given scraps by their midfield.

I don't think I'd be jumping for joy if we get him, but he's definitely got something about him. I'm sure we'd improve him but I honestly don't know if I see him starting - for example - a CL final for us.

I do wonder though if we're keeping our powder dry in the transfer market for a big signing?

That can’t be right, once the release clause is met it’s entirely up to the player, offering more than the release clause achieves nothing. Palace can’t accept more and send him to Chelsea.
Unless you want to spread the payments.
They did it with Nicolas Jackson. Pay more but over a longer period.

He wouldn’t be a starter though ,at least not to start with. Grealish would start on the left and Foden or Bernardo on the right. That would be the same for whoever we bring in to replace Mahrez.

So he was at Man City for a few months as a teen before he went home to London again homesick..?

I think he is pretty similar to Mahrez (play-style) actually.. but not as prolific as a scorer obviously. He got a decent first touch (+left footed right winger), not very quick but is very good in buying himself half a yard to get the cross or pass off and getting his defender on his backheels or off balance. Timing is the most important thing in dribbling and hes got that.

I think he will get a decent amount of assist against deep sitting teams for Man City. I think he can grow into getting to a finish more often as well. There is not many obvious replacements for Marhez and hes not one of them either but who is really.

And I think City will go for younger replacements, early twenties, and in that way he fits.

He's nowhere near City's level Olise.

If I was a betting man, I'd bet that we won't be signing a winger this summer.

Colwill and Badiashile as LCB. Who is their RCB? Surely they’re not relying on Tiago Silva…

Would have been Fofana and Chalobah, but with Fofana out for the season most likely, I don’t know. Bashir Humphreys has looked pretty decent this preseason, so maybe him? Silva is also around but if it was up to me I would limit his minutes.

Never been huge fan of his and I would be a hypocrite to go back on that just because he's linked. I doubt anyone on here would be impressed if we signed Zaha, so why on earth would Olise, who plays in the same Palace team but provides a comparatively dismal output, be any better?
