Referee for yesterdays match and while refs usually come in for a lot of stick on forum's i really cant think of any decision i disagreed with yesterday.
He was clever in the way he handled the game, allowing fouls to be foul's and not being overly harsh on any player when he brought out a yellow card.

Could go on to be one of the best ref's the Prem has had to date, and at the age of 26 he has loads of years in front of him at the top level.

An absolute breath of fresh air.

Good call Ricster, we slate the refs when they fuck up yet not much is said about them reffing a game well.

Different class. I can't recall a single decision I thought was wrong. Not even little fouls.

It's a strange one because when we win we all praise the referee but in yesterday's case even if villa had snatched a late goal I would still be saying the referee had a good game.

The flip side to the coin is that the villa fans were singing your not fit to referee so god knows what's going on.

All I would say is he wasn't handing out cards like confetti and he let the game flow that's all any football fan can hope for IMO.

Early on i thought that too, but by doing so he would have set a precident for the rest of the game, in not doing so it allowed Oliver to allow the game to flow which for me made the football all the more enjoyable.

Only 5 fouls conceeded. No yellows. Didnt notice the ref which is always a good thing. Just shows how much difference having a fair and unbiased ref means to us with whats happened lately

Yesterday proved he's the best referee in the league. Let the game flow, only stopped it when he had to.

Oliver is possibly the best ref out there. Understands that a good ref is invisible.

Agree - I thought he was great - took too long to book Petrov but he got him in the end.
