Michael Shields Freed

Like some geezer in Manchester knows anything about it.

He's free.

Well, some geezer from Blackburn seems to think he knows enough to make a decision.

I find it bizarre that Jack Straw, a man with absolutely no professional legal qualifications whatsoever (reading law at University ISN'T the same thing), is able to make a decision such as this and over-rule an entire countries judiciary system.

What I find bizarre is that Jack Straw can pardon someone who's alibi is based solely on a relative going to the so-called "guilty" persons house and extracting a confession......in front of a few other "mates."
Yet poor inncoent sods like Stefan Kiszko can rot in jail for years, his Ukranian-born mother totally ignored by the judiciary and police for twenty years despite being a victim of a ridiculously obvious miscarriage of justice.

Obviously it helps if you have thousands of weeping Scousers and a weak, spineless government desperately looking to score PR points on your side.

Great post. The story of Stefan Kiszko and his mother is one of the saddest you will ever read and I urge anyone who doesn't know the case to read about it. It puts Shields's release in perspective to say the least.

It was absolutely disgusting what happened to that man. There are no words to describe those individuals involved in convicting him.

Just heard an interview with Michael Shields:

He said that he was sick of being surrounded by thieves, drug dealers & murderers!

The moaning c*nts only been home 24 hours!!

Why admit to doing something like that if you haven't? only a numpty would do that, and according to Laura this guy had no links to the shields family.

The "confession" was made on condition that Sankey would not have to stand trial himself, and he was mates with the two other scousers that were in the next room to Shields in the Hotel, that Sheilds stated he didn' know yet they were drinking together. The two other scousers were also convicted of affray (or something) after pleading guilty to being involved in the fight.

One of the convicted actually stated that he was involved in the brawl with Sheilds.. or did I read it wrong/
