So two hours after seeing his team come from 3-0 down at half time to draw 3-3 and win probably the best European Cup final ever on penalties, Mr Shields goes straight back to his hotel and sleeps?

You would of thought the best thing to do would be out celebrating and drinking and having a good time.

No? Okay then.

I might go and buy a chicken from Tesco now and place it somewhere in Liverpool, now Shields is free they need something to greive over.

Hahaha - brilliant!

The dead chicken story is one of my all time favourites. As an aside, I was in Liverpool for a meeting last week and my phone died, before I knew it I'd been buried in a sea of flowers and a book of condolence had been set up.

Nok, Nok Nokia on heavens door?

Don't know enough about the case to really comment.

Although, the little I HAVE read is not very inspiring if you think him completely innocent.

Think he has served his time though.

Not if he did it mate. Four years for deliberately smashing a paving slab over some poor bloke's head is hardly justice.

Not disagreeing as such, but he has served more time than many do for similar.

That's a different argument though.

Some bloke admitted it, then retracted his admission. He made this admission in the safety of the UK knowing full well he was never going to be extradited to Bulgaria and would never have to serve any time for the crime, which puts his confession into doubt in my mind.

Why admit to doing something like that if you haven't? only a numpty would do that, and according to Laura this guy had no links to the shields family.
Why admit it if you did it knowing you would get 10 years

Fair comment.
So now you are Questioning the Bulgarian Legal System .It is there Laws that tried, convicted & sentenced him .What would you say if a Bulgarian stuck a paveing stone over a relative of yours in England & after a couple of years got sent back home then a couple of years afte rgot set free . The bloke who was hit will never be the same

Couldn't agree more mate. I said "fair comment" as it was fair in my eyes but I don't agree.

One of the most disgraceful things about the whole affair is the way the scousers have made the Bulgarian Legal System to be something out of the third world despite all the evidence pointing to Shields being guilty. The highly ironic thing is that he has got off on the basis of a confession that his parents told Jack Straw about and the results of a lie detector test!! So who's legal system is from the dark ages then?
