Neither are really part of Birmingham mate. Solihull is a separate borough and whilst Sutton falls under Birmingham City Council it very much has its own identity - people who are from there tend to say they are from Sutton, not Birmingham. Don’t really like either tbh, certainly not Solihull which I feel lacks personality. Both places are where self made people tend to gravitate though, hence my comment.

The nicest areas in Birmingham proper are Harborne and Edgbaston I’d say, the former of which is most akin to Didsbury. The latter has some ridiculously big houses. As does Moseley, although demographically it’s more mixed in that district I’d say.
West Mids blues met in a boozer in Solihull.

If Government can impose a windfall tax on energy companies for excess profits then they can do the same on MedPro for the £60 million they made during a national emergency. It's like the black market during WWII - exploiting the nation's need for scarce commodities. I'd bang an 80% tax bill on MedPro.

Damming verdict by the NAO on the transparency of the emergency procurement system.
What's really shocking is the number of quotes I've seen about companies who ALREADY supplied the NHS, saying they struggled to get orders from the Tories.

The shit hole of Manchester! Can't hold a candle to Moston, Crumpsall, Collyhurst or 'Apper'ay! And as for Blackley? The jewel in Manchester's crown, the veritable Koh-i-Noor!

The company my wife worked for was one of them. An approved registered NHS supplier. Who manufactured medical supplies including PPE, had factories in the UK and one in China and despite calls and emails by them! They never got asked to quote or supply any emergency covid PPE to the NHS.

Im only witholding their name as its not my place to name them and grind their axe publicly. Its up to them if they wanted to take it further if they haven't already. However they are a leading UK company in the field and there isn't that many companies that do what they do in the UK either so it's not as if they could have been missed out of the procurement chain easily by accident.

I understand that they continued to supply their usual supplies to the NHS during covid but no more.

Mone and Matt Hancocks landlord obviously were better placed. Lol.

The government will do a deal where they get £5m back and paint it as a job well done that's saved the taxpayer money
