Just watched his interview on the Beeb site, can't see anything wrong with what he said. They were on top in the first half and on balance probably did enough for a point. Does the OP want every manager to lick our arses?
they were on top for the first 25 minutes, but by ht a 1-1 was fair. In the 2nd half we battered them, and should have scored a lot more than 4

McCarthy is just bigging up his own team to protect morale

The game could have been out of our reach in the first half, so i think he could justify his point of view.
Remind me of the saves Hart made. I don't recall him making many. They blew themselves out after a first 20 mins which they were never going to be able to keep up

They gave us nore problems at the back than the rags, chelsea and liverpool combined, I don't see that he needs to big them up.

What on earth are you talking about? Their first goal was a fluke after a ridiculous rebound, they had every single referring decision in their favour, a stupid amount f time added on, and they lost. And in your book that equals "deserves a point"????

Madness.

2 last ditch blocks by defenders spring to mind, with the net gaping, take the blue tinted glasses off.

Ive no problem with McCarthy. He's working very hard to keep his team in the league. Thought his tactics were very good today, compacted his team into our half and never let us settle into rhythm. In the end our class told but 51% possesion shows that his team gave us a good battle. I hope his team survives because they play some decent football.

I've no idea whether the possession stat is right but I agree with everything else you say.

first half wolves were the better team, there was even some nob behind me shouting johnson your shite in 119!!! mancinis first proper go at it and were top off the league,as for mick i think hes a decent bloke.once a blue allways a blue....

No, it's an opinion. Do you seriously not think we struggled badly in the first half?

Take a look at Football First, it's just started.

That's part of what defenders are there for - last ditch challenges. As I said Hart didn't have a save of note to make. Yes Wolves had a good go, and showed great spirit, but we deserved to win the game on the balance of play and efforts on goal.

I can only echo what you say. Good man McCarthy and I hope the Wolves stay up, they gave us a good game today.

they did, and they have given most teams a good game. Beat Chelsea and Liverpool recently. Shows what a good League the Premiership is when a team in the bottom 3 can play as well as they do. Their final ball was often poor though. And I think you can say that about most of their season. They often come away from games saying they played well, but didn't get what they deserved. Well you have to create goal-scoring chances and take them whether you're City or Wolves

Mentioned it in one of my paltry number of posts previously, but he put in the most memorable, possibly best performance i remember from one of our centre halfs. Blackburn away in 198? we won 1-0 pushing for promotion.
And used to laugh my bollocks off after internationals when he gave post match interviews with his ROI shirt on in his broad Barnsley accent.

Most of the johnny cum lately's on this site (who were probably booing and slagging in th 40th minute and doing the Poznan in the 60th) probably have absolutely no idea that McCarthy was a great captain for City.

Unfortunately this thread sums up everything that's wrong with this site and our new found support.
