Middle East Conflict | Netanyahu orders strikes on Gaza (p1161)

Probably - using the hospital as a shield - but I'm yet to be convinced. It would be a PR disaster on a huge scale for Hamas if proven (and their leaders are fairly bright).

I think the question is how convincing whatever the Israelis present is found to be, and they have to present something. If it's anything less than conclusive..... well, you know what I am getting at.

Interesting talking to a Jewish lad I know, talking about bombing of innocent kids and he’s saying Israel would never do anything like that the whole of the Israeli people would condone it straight away! I obviously pointed out how wrong he was to say such a misguided statement but like usual I was greeted with various mentions of the holocaust and numerous mentions of anti semitism, this comes from someone who is openly racist against what he so affectionately calls ‘P—ki bastards
I have grown up in a Jewish area, went to school with many many Jews, done business with them and I can hand on heart say they are a very racist race of people but the first to call out any they encounter against themselves! Sorry but it’s my experience and my opinion! I’m neither anti semitic or racist I’m in the side of peace and innocent children

?????

It's pretty wild how so many posters on here are choosing to believe a conspiracy theory about Isreal and the US faking intelligence rather than believing terrorists might just actually do terroristey things.

This is even worse than the covid thread.
To be fair both have form for fabricating evidence as do Hamas, you can only trust evidence from independent observers

I hadn’t realised Israeli Comms were down. If they had found anything meaningful their army of PR specialists would be all over it by now. Colonel Richard Kemp would be on GB news by now.

Hmmm .... They have been in there for nearly 12 hours now? You can't help but think if they had found a subterranean command and control centre or if there had been armed resistance, it would be all over the news already. But no, they are calmly rounding everybody up and id'ing them presumably in the hope they can present some of them as Hamas.

Wait and see, I suppose.

That's the keyword right there.

With the zero number of foreign news outlets being allowed in there at the moment I'm just worried that this will be seen as anything other than the enforcement of democracy by the invading superpower and not the quote 'slaughter of the human animals' unquote as we all know it's absolutley impossible for the IDF to commit an error, crime or miscalculation (they have used the words 'targeted' and 'precsion') and this could be seen as a succesful way of preventing aid being given to Palestinian people especially with the lack of it getting through right now

Also that IDF spokesperson was on the news only recently saying they "don't attack hospitals" and then they went an attacked a hospital but they said they have proof Hamas are under there - although we have yet to see that proof yet, it doesn't matter, they will show us that later I reckon

Define 'fairly bright'? Did they think Israel would sit back and do nothing after the terrorist attack. They must be as thick as two short planks.

Cake and eat it - insist HAMAS is a terrorist organisation so when its pointed out that would mean that they are not a state and therefore not bound by all the Rules Israel as a sovereign state would be bound by the answer is to deflect and quote "facts" for which there is no proof

Comms from Gaza City to South Gaza - unless Israel are permitting comms within Gaza or via isreal of course.

Just out of interest, which rules that apply to state actors would not apply to a non-state actor?

Oh I'm convinced that was totally intentional.
Part of their western media strategy to isolate Israel and they clearly wanted Israel to attack and get bogged down in street fighting with massive civilian losses to aid this strategy.
Hamas couldnt give a shit about Palestinian civilians.
Although working to a large degree, this may not go as planned as, according to US intellegence sources, the 20+ Hamas brigades in the North are totally disrupted and being picked off by the IDF (see any MSM media source for information about this) using UAV and personal drones for reconisence.

Sadly for them, according to US intellegence sources the Hamas brigades in the North are totally disrupted and being picked off by the IDF (see any MSM media source for information about this).
All they have done is retreated South, and left a few fighters in the north, it's a sensible military tactic, plus there are not that many IDF on the ground, Israel is doing their job for them, demonizing itself in the eyes of the world make no bones about it in order to achieve their objectives they are going to have to put lots of boots on the ground, and that is exactly what they are waiting for, this has been planned for a long time, eyewitness accounts from IDF soldiers are that they haven't really seen any Hamas considering that they have over 30,000 fighters it's quite obvious what has happened

Personally, I doubt the Hamas leadership cared how Israel responds, the organisation will survive anyway. No matter the scale of severity of the response, they will, in the end, be able to claim a win. That is the nature of terrorism and insurgency. All imho, of course.

The Tonight Show on Virgin One tonight painting a desperate picture of conditions within the besieged Al-Shifa hospital.
Dr. Tanya Haj of Medicine Sans Frontieres talking of no food or water getting in at this point.
The smell from the morgue. Dead bodies being buried in the hospital gardens now because the staff are being shot at if they step outside. Even talking of dogs scavenging on dead bodies. Gruesome!
Operating like medieval times without any anaesthesia.
Nurses have been shot through the windows. Not the only hospital this is happening at either. Trapped inside and shot if they appear at the doors.

Tunnels or no tunnels underneath, it is all very grim.
Whilst labelling people as anti-Semites seems to be far more important than any of this.
