Well yes, hard to think of a better illustration that the fact that during his election campaign, the future (now former) Israeli PM Ehud Barak was famously asked what he’d be doing now if he was born Palestinian, and he said he’d be fighting for Hamas or another terror group.

I cant remember her name but an ex CIA analyst said it well. Everyone who fights in a terror cell or insurgency see themselves as the good guys fighting evil. in movie terms they all see themselves like Luke skywalker fighting the evil empire.

rightly or wrongly thats the truth of it. and you dont defeat that mentality with force ( unless you happen to wipe them all out entirely ), its generations of compassion and education to fix that issue.

We don’t know what’s going on behind the scenes though, but Israel appears to be gripped by a collective desire for vengeance, and no one knows what the end game is, Israel needs its friends to tell them enough is enough, you can see the tone of statements has changed

They have covered a beach in flags too and drawn a giant one in dirt using a bulldoser in a Gazan neighbourhood. Looks more like conquest everyday.

This conflict has really brought home to me how lucky I am to be born in the UK ( shit governments aside), and has made me reflect on how I’d react if I was born in a place like Palestine etc.

I'd understand your point if Israel chose to for example execute gay people as they do in virtually most of the countries neighbouring Israel but that isn't the case, this is about terrorists. Ironically people on here seem to defend those countries and their right to enact Islamic religious brutality, however with Israel it's just always different isn't it?

This thread is getting pretty boring to be honest, most of it now has nothing to do with the conflict. We may as well just call it the Israel bashing thread. He wasn't convicted of terror offences, but from what I read no one said he was. There are plenty of Hamas leaders in Qatar who are definitely terrorists and haven't been convicted of being a terrorist.

Now Emmeline Pankhurst? She was both a terrorist and convicted for carrying out a terrorist attack.

To show that the terrorism designation is an arbitrary political designation based not on your actions but on your political stance and affiliation.
It's a stick the West uses to beat and tarnish its opponents with.
It doesn't mean a thing.
 
The claims Israel make effectively mark this out as a crime scene. You don't move guns and other things around the location to bolster your case thats contaminating evidence and is not helping make your case

 


I meant to post that Israel is saying 1.200 rather than 1,400 of its citizens were killed on 7 October. RIP.

The discrepancy was due to burnt bodies being unrecognisable.

Of course we do..the obvious is one of a one state solution with equal rights for Palestinians but just now this seems unpalatable/impossible to both sides,but in time ?? In many ways Israel is regarded as part of the West and is supported by the West. So perhaps the US, Europe should encourage a democratic process ?? And I say that through gritted teeth as I do feel many of the political issues in the last 100 years were created by the West in the first place.
