Middle East Conflict | Netanyahu orders strikes on Gaza (p1161)

Given the number of senior Iranian political and military leaders that have been assassinated in the last few days, could there be a coup in the offing?

Israel are clearly getting this intel from the top.
Or could it be because NATO ISTAR assets have been employed in the ME and the Gulf for 30+ years. Israel AF has realistically been integrated into NATO structure, everybody knows it, but nobody wants to say it.

I mean which is it? What are you actually advocating for here? The Liberal interventionist sweet spot?

Physician heal thyself
I am supporting the British government should they make the decision use the RAF to eliminate Iranian ordnance over Israel. Not more than that in terms of direct involvement.
I am supporting the Israeli aim of regime change in Iran to prevent their progress to a nuclear weapon. Netanyahu has already appealed to the Iranian people to rise up and its not unrealistic in the circumstances that they could weaken the regime enough for it to happen.

If I appear to be virtue signalling then something is wrong with your radar or my posts as I have no problem sitting some distance below the moral high ground.

Mossad have very heavily infiltrated Iran , in the past a secret service division tasked with monitoring Isreali spying activities the head of it turned out to be a mosad agent and and it had another 20 moles. In 2018 stole nuclear program documents

Where are your figures that most Jews are opposed to Netanyahu's genocide?

But if you insist...

Only took 2 seconds to see that firstly that american and not world wide .. withought even dissecting any more of it as you were

So in which country are a majority of Jews not supporting the genocide?

Your turn to provide some evidence.

What you provided didn't even say ' support genocide ' and it wasn't me that made a ludicrous fictional statement , I don't have to provide any evidence as I made no claim . I've said for a very long time that the response is excessive, if not expected . but unlike yourself I'm able to look at things from both sides of the shit show and have lived experience, even if Israel l hadn't responded you would still be criticising them anyway . Netanyahu is a **** , but I have syphanthy for all citizens from both sides .

Israels "iron dome" defensive system was effective enough against the rockets from hamas and hezbolah, and to a degree against the (slower moving) drones from Iran, but it doesn't seem very effective against the fast moving missiles, so probably a bit of a wake up call.

That said Iran really doesn't have any air defence, or even early warning against the Israel strikes, to the point they can basically strike wherever they wish, so have air superiority. The countries in between (Jordan, Syria, Iraq, Kuwait, and Saudi) don't seem to have any appetite to intervene in either direction.

I hope at some point the Iraelis take out the religeous nuntters in iran, and that iran take out the nutter netanyahu and his cohorts, it would do the world a huge favour imho.

I think the points you make are all valid, but don’t change my view on the overwhelming undesirability of a theocratic death cult regime possessing nuclear weapons, which is presumably, based on what you have posted, not a view you share.

I would feel exactly the same about it being in the hands of US Evangelists.

I think there is a greater risk of a religious leader using a nuclear weapon for theological reasons than a political leader using it for strategic reasons. It looks like you don’t.

You may be correct, but I don’t think it’s worth the risk fwiw.
Where exactly have Iran threatened to use nuclear weapons.? What is the theological basis for using nuclear weapons? In fact, Ayatollah has a fatwa against it.

I support Iran bombing Israel to force regime change and force them to decommission their illegal nuclear weapons.

So supporting the flattening of Gaza and the starving of the population is not genocide, just an excessive response?

I'm really not sure how you can say I would be criticising Israel if Israel hadn't responded. (I wasn't sure if you meant the excessive response was what you expected.) If you mean I'd be criticising Israel for being an apartheid state with a prime minister holding power by having in his government people who were genocidal before October 7th, and doing his best to wreck a two-state solution, and nobble the judiciary in Israel, that's true. But before October 7th that would be criticism in which most Jews would join.

I'd be interested to know about your "lived experience" and how that translates to sympathy for the Palestinians.
