Middle East Conflict

It's not revenge, it's just an excuse to rob the land.
Nah I do think it's revenge. Robbing their land has been going on for decades seemingly.
None of this happens without Hamas being the shite that they are.

But tbh I think Hamas, Gaza, have won the war.... We all now have a little bit of dislike or hatred for Israel.

Job done, you stupid Israeli govn and its right wing supporters.

Apart from the complete lack of humanity on display by the Israeli government there also appears to be a complete lack of intelligence too.
With each passing day more Palestinians are supporting Hamas. Even if Israel manage to wipe them out there will now be thousands of young men and women, seriously embittered, who will become the 'terrorists' of the future.
This is what I don't u derstand about israel's stated aim of completely eradicating Hamas.
Apart from it being wildly improbable, even if they killed every member of hamas, they are going to piss off that many young Palestinians, Hamas mk2 will form the day after.

Also - to eradicate HAMAS are they going to invade Qatar as thats where the top brass - the keepers of the ideology are and they will already be working on using what is happening as a recruitment tool

They're fighting a war. You might have noticed that wars tend to be somewhat inhumane. Care to give an example of a humane one?

And I'd say their actions maybe have a sound logic. The worse it gets, the more the pressure to stop and therefore the more need for a longer-term solution involving the international community, which takes some responsibility for Gaza and it's future.
Wars are as you say inhumane. But unlike most wars this is is incredibly one sided.

As for international pressure, the Israeli foreign secretary has already said he doesn't care whether the international community are with Israel or not.

There is no future for Gaza as a place where Palestinians live. There will be no 2 state solution. You can see what's unfolding. You just don't want to believe it.

As you say completely counterproductive.

Racists are often blinkered to be fair.

Just watched an IDF soldier telling Jeremy Bowen he doesn't know what is going on nor what he speaks on. Jeremy Bowen !! He and Frank Gardner know more about the Middle East its conflicts and politics than any reporter I know of - the soldier was doubtless in his 20's. This probably happened when that soldier was a babe in arms

Bowen has been under fire on assignment a number of times. In what he was later to describe as the pivotal moment of his life, a colleague and friend was killed on 23 May 2000 in Lebanon.[4] This took place while Bowen was covering the Israel Defense Forces' (IDF) pullout from Lebanon: Bowen's car came under tank fire from the IDF and his "fixer" and driver was killed.[11]

What makes you think that ?
The statements coming out of the White House, the threat of legal review about how American arms are used, the bellicose rhetoric coming out of the Israeli government, the Americans are being pressured by everyone now to call a halt

There’s going to come a point where the Israelis are going to have to say what comes next, they seem to think that kicking the problem into the long grass like they did before is going to work again, but the 1000s of deaths in this latest round ensures it won’t be, new generations with little sympathy for their position are coming into power now

The choice is stark, either a two state solution or equal rights for all, it can’t go on like this it’s destabilising the world and the strategic interests of the west

In the end the fate of Israel lies in the hands of the US, attitudes are changing, when the support starts really costing them, they will stop, the emergency funding has still not arrived in Israel so the coffers will be running dry very soon
