In my opinion it’s all part of a much bigger plan by Iran and Russia to bring about some regional instability in a bid to get the US involved, with the aim of getting their man elected to the White House in January by making Biden look weak or warmongering. We all know that with Trump in charge, Russia’s prospects of victory in Ukraine increase massively.

A Trump White House would only be good for the extremists on both sides and that includes Netanyahu’s government, the settler movement and Hamas. Ordinary Israelis and Palestinians would be the big losers because it would perpetuate the conflict, increase terrorism worldwide and there would be no prospect of an equitable solution. It doesn’t bear thinking about.And Israel is also taking advantage of that. Nothing happens in isolation.
At the end of the day, the only thing that ends this whole regional mess is rapprochement between Iran and the US. Before it's too late.
