Middle East Conflict

The US thought they had agreement with Israel on a 21 day ceasefire with Lebanon and did a bit of media briefing. Seems Netanyahu changed his mind on the plane over to New York. Needless to say the yanks aren’t best pleased.
Anyone pushing for a ceasefire now is being disingenuous.
They had eleven months since October 8, 2023 to push for a ceasefire but did nothing.
As soon as Israel starts to respond to the constant rocket barrages from Hezbollah, then suddenly, now they want a ceasefire.
Why are people placing these types of burden on Israel? Which other country in the West would accept such a deal?
In my opinion, this constant call for ceasefire anytime Israel ups the ante is one reason why there's been no peace in the region.
The terrorists know that if they stir up trouble, they can always count on the sympathy of the West to pressure Israel for a ceasefire. They do this by showing endless videos/pictures of mangled corpse of children and women.
Israel refused any ceasefire with Hamas and continued with the war in Gaza. As a result, rocket attacks have stopped coming into Israel.
Let Israel deal with Hezbollah. Hopefully, their military capabilities would be downgraded to a level which would allow the Lebanese military to step in and assume full security responsibility of the country.

It’s not the people who are the problem, it’s the leaders on all sides.

I fully agree with the two state solution.
The issue has always been whether both sides would agree to live side by side in peace.
From a practical point of view the easiest solution would be to let Israel have Gaza, where they will have a contiguous coast from Egypt to Lebanon.
In return the West Bank becomes the state of Palestine. I don't know how they'd feel not having sea. But obviously some give and take is needed.

Jerusalem would have to be a separate issue.

The problem is Israel is now overextending militarily into another country and they're going to kill a lot of Lebanese people.

But are they going to beat Hezbollah? Hezbollah have been deeply embedded within Lebanon for decades and certainly in Beirut. So what are they going to do? Level Beirut as they've done to Gaza?

What if Hezbollah moved to London, would we allow them to bomb London and kill British people?

A line has to be drawn and they're pushing the boundaries too far. I understand securing the border but violating another's airspace to bomb their capital and risk civilians as collateral.. It's going too far now.

What would you suggest that Israel should do in order to stop the rockets coming from Lebanon?

Not really a concern for some on this thread and those in power.

Do you think Bombing will stop rockets coming from Lebanon long run? or do you think it will create more martyr's and bad blood and increase the chances of rockets later?
