I have no sympathy for Hamas or their leaders. But I do have sympathy for those who have lost family and loved ones.

It’s almost as if Hamas needs Israel to commit atrocities to thrive and Israel obliges. And in The process takes the opportunity to gain more and more land to build more and more settlements.

Hamas leaders gain.
Israel gains.
Average Palestinian loses.

A cynic might think that Israel keeps Hamas going to achieve their long term goal of taking over all Palestinian land.
Who was the last leader of any country that fought on the front line?
