Middle East Conflict

Perhaps you can discuss the question of “why there is mass migration” in Europe, maybe the next two statements will be easier to discuss.

1 - mass migration from Afghanistan refugees after the Afghan invasion by US and its allies
2 - mass migration from Iraq refugees after the Iraq invasion by the US and it’s allies
3 - mass migration from Syria - Libya for the same reasons -
4 - mass migration from Egypt due to West interference in local government policy and regime change operations causing security and economic instability locally
5 - a large number of migrants from countries like Pakistan due to US interference in local governments regime changes causing security and economic instability locally
6 - a large number of migrants from countries like India due to labour shortages in UK and Europe and the foreign policy to promote trade with India
7 - education being a large industry in Uk and Europe and Uk and Europe promoting its education to gain billions from international students from poorer countries.
8 - economic and social inequality across regions
9 - the geographical mobility of people today compared to 30 years ago, the language barriers being overcome, the tourism hotspots like Dubai attracting people from the west

I could go on but making an observation like Muslim population in Europe is on the rise is well and good, and factual. But if that observation leads you wonder about the cultural issues or ideological issues it causes, then perhaps look at the root cause of it. And see if the US and the west should have thought of it before pillaging country after country across the aforementioned parts of the world.

If you are going to knock down your neighbours house because you didn’t want to see him happy, don’t be surprised that when it rains or sun is at its hottest that he comes looking for shelter in your house no matter how much you dislike him as he’ll have no where to go and have no resources to build another house of his own.

The west professes that it’s culture is the best, it’s way of living is the most just, it provides the most freedom on how people should live, then don’t be surprised that people want to come and live there. And as it happens with migration, no one side loses its culture completely but a hybrid is created.
Best post of the week sir, well done.

Another one who has the somewhat facile or dubious notion that because someone Jewish has an opinion on the current situation (particularly one that aligns with their own view) that every Jew who doesn't agree with them is somehow wrong or deluded. It's so fucking infuriating. Some fuckwit on here actually mocked me for not knowing David Hearst, Editor of Middle East Eye, was Jewish, as though we all know each other and have a secret handshake or something.

Jews, just like Christians, Muslims, Hindus and other people, have a wide variety of opinions. In the Jewish world, these range from rejecting Zionism and the notion of an Israeli state (like Neturei Karta) to ardent Zionists. From those on the left who wholly support the Palestinian cause to those on the right who would happily expel or even kill Palestinians en masse.

I could post endless videos of Christians who firmly believe abortion shouldn't be allowed or that homosexuals are sinful and will burn in hell. Not my views but there are lots who hold the same views or sympathise with them. And there are lots of practicing Christians who have a differing view.

There's an article by Gideon Rachman (who I believe is Jewish) in the FT saying that it's quite possible to support Israel in its action against Hamas yet also support Palestinian aspirations. His argument is that countries talking to Israel who show some understanding and support are far more likely to have some influence, over countries who just tell them they're a bunch of bastards.
But they all agree it's a muffin, right?

I may be wrong but it does seem like there maybe some stepping back from the brink, just that mood music coming out of the Israeli government seems to changing, or could just be POTUS visiting tomorrow? But the visit is very unusual in of itself

Perhaps American intelligence have realised that this is a very well laid out trap set by Iran in order to goad Israel into a war in South, a war that would suck up their resources leaving them weak on other fronts? Who knows they probably launch a ground invasion now! But the message seems to be changing
