I don't think anyone is claiming any "equivalence". Each party is nasty in its own way.

No equivalence of course but Israel doesn't need to take hostages when it can just detain people without trial. Attacking villages and killing unarmed civilians is wrong, it's just the scale of it that isn't "equivalent".

I thought the clip was advocating an eye for an eye, even if against the law.

Elliot Ness didn't deal with Capone by obliterating half of Chicago and killing and maiming thousands of innocents.
