If Hamas indeed thought the Arabs would go into war with Israel for them, then they've surely miscalculated. Syria and Iraq probably would have liked to help them if it even comes to that stage, but they are already in a mess.
That was never going to happen.
Arab states could be destabilised internally by all this, though, which would be a win for Iran.
