Looks like there are going to be more innocent casualties the way both sides are talking about more actions. This is going to effect even more cities in Europe and around the World.
 
I honestly believe that a ground invasion is exactly what Hamas wants and more importantly Iran wants, and most people accept that they can’t destroy Hamas they are like a hydra

The Americans are worried about a huge barrage of missiles coming over the border, and if anyone attacks Iran, Iran firing ICBMs or potentials blocking the gulf shipping lanes

We are sleep walking into a disastrous war that no one can win

Currently there’s 1200 Palestinians locked up in Israel being held despite not being charged with any crimes, without having a trial of any kind, and without knowing how long they will be locked up for.

And those are just the ones locked up illegally. Hamas will also want to trade for some of their own fighters and leaders who are imprisoned legally - about another 3500.

I assume they’ve given the few they’ve traded for aid getting in to show they’re interested in swaps, that they’re not treating the hostages too badly and they’re still alive.

The quicker it’s resolved the better though, the longer those people are being hidden in a war zone with 30,000 Hamas militants, and a civilian population getting bombed 1000 times a day, the more likely something awful will happen.

My personal view is that Netanyahu will invade when he feels the IDF are ready go in. It’s a lot easier to blast “targets” from the skies atm. Netanyahu is saying Israel will invade soon but adding that they are waiting for the US to strengthen defences for their assets (so you might well be right). Time will tell.

I think the days of getting hundreds or thousands of prisoners freed in return for one or a few Israelis have gone. October 7th has reinforced that IMHO.

I got a minute in and she suggested that people who want a free Palestine want Hamas to take over governance of the modern state of Israel.

Which is such a ridiculously stupid straw man that I couldn’t carry on.

Literally not a single person has ever suggested that. She knows that. You must know that? Logical!?

OK I carried on and now she says people from Gaza are not Palestinian (news to them!)

Then she says Israel is not actually occupying Gaza which is news to..well the entire international community, the UN, the people who live there.

Then she goes on a very nasty rant about how Israel left Gaza in 2005 and doesn’t owe them anything, and literally mocks people who call for electricity and water to be allowed in.

Which to anyone who knows that Israel won’t let Gaza build an airport, or a sea port, or even fish their own waters, or build their own power plants…is pretty fucking vile to be honest.

Then some classic “why are we held to a higher standard” Rhetoric (the answer is because you at least purport to be a modern western democracy and not a group of militant terrorists)

Then she says when Israel has freed Gaza of Hamas there will be peace.

Which is funny because there was no peace before Hamas came to prominence (thanks to all those millions the Israeli government gave them to disrupt the PLO which was actually making progress on peace talks )


After that I genuinely couldn’t carry on. Seen enough to know a she’s an awful human being with an incredibly warped perspective and anyone promoting this rant as some sort of fair assessment of things is probably singing from the same hymn sheet.

I don’t know if she seriously thinks Israel can bomb Hamas out of existence and that will lead to peace, or she’s just being dishonest for the argument, but if anyone thinks the former they’re in for a sad surprise.

I think 6000 murdered and 1.1 million homeless Palestinians since 7 Oct disagree with this young lady. And good luck with Hamas, the next iteration of it and its next intake of 17-18 year olds will be even more resolute in their desperate struggle and scarily bloodthirsty.
