Yes we did. You’d think after the first Spurs would think to pack their other kit, but no they didn’t!We've done it twice, red/black in a daytime game and all maroon v them in yellow in an evening one.

Yes - twice. I’ll get an article posted about this on my site at some point. Thanks for reminding me.Didnt we also wear our away shirts at home to spurs in the 80s ?
And won both games 2-1.We've done it twice, red/black in a daytime game and all maroon v them in yellow in an evening one.
It was a pure merchandise promotion. I was in the HoD meeting the following Monday when a few of us were critical. Maybe one day I’ll write about those meetings. Lots of odd stuff used to happen!Ironically it was that awful decision taken by City to wear next seasons away kit at the last home game of the 2004 / 05 season which was v Middlesborough in what was a UEFA Cup play off final.
A decision that not one fan approved of - yet when I wrote to either Alistair Mackintosh or Sara Billington about it, specifically asking who suggested / supported that decision the reply I received said it was "supported by everyone including the manager".
Truly woeful decision.
