Middlesbrough post-match thread

Good game. Silva got the early goal, we could've scored lots even carbon copies of that one. But great that we got the crucial 2nd. Sané flew past them again and a nice finish Agüero. I really thought the Sterling goal was onside. Weren't at our best but it was still more than good enough. My motm Silva, semi-finals, cmon City!

That is, hands down, the dirtiest and - and two do not follow - most dangerous team in the PL. Double whammy on Raheem either one of which could reasonably have red carded. I was terrified for a second. He's a tough little fucker, in fact, tougher than he looks.
Job done - Wembley beckons. On to Wednesday. Think I would have subbed either KDB or Merlin after the second, to be honest. Very good call to sub Leroy as early as that.
The most important thing that I take from that game – signs that Kev is getting back into the groove.

Solid , methodical and onto London.

Another clean sheet which is what its all about.

No one can fault the effort and work rate.

Other than some clumsy finishing and passing in the final third its a very professional performance.

Really nice to see Dave looking to the goal more today. Scored, could have had 2 more easily.

yes because thats only thing they do..... i meant in terms of trying to defend and not go all out attack. the boring football/ caution first approach, we used to do that.
We did it under Pearce for one year and every blue I've ever met considers that season as a pathetic embarrassment. We never tried to injure opposition either, which seemed to be Boro's plan. Utterly shit way of playing and they should be ashamed of themselves

Don't know who I prefer. We owe Chelsea and Spurs and beating Arsenal would be good for Arsenal tv. I prefer Spurs, we've been robbed in the past 3 out 4 fixtures agaisnt them.

Bit of an assumption that Chelsea will win Monday which isn't a formality. United are not losing many games so it could be tight that one.

No game of City Bingo is ever complete without the Clichy foul throw, the Otamendi theatrics, the blatant non penalty, the opposition fans booing Sterling, and the goal kick that needs to be retaken because it didn’t clear the Penalty Area.

Otherwise, fairly comfortable, although God knows how Boro finished with eleven players still on the pitch.
