I'm not sure what Cleverley actually does. Is he supposed to be creative, or defensive? When he makes himself available for the ball when in possession, he tends to put himself too close to an opponent so that his teammate does not pass to him. And it works. He looks scared to have the ball, and when he has got it, he will lay it off pretty sharpish.

Compare this to Wilshere's play - always available, wants to take players on, not afraid of anyone. There is such a gulf in class between the two players.
