Not good reading (if true). Isnt this changing the rules retrospectively?

if this were as black and white as it seemed, all clubs would be bricking themselves.

The news comes as City's Manchester rivals, United, publish accounts today that are expected to comply comfortably with FFP, not least because they make enormous operating profits. A British record figure of more than £100m for 2009-10 is expected when United post their latest results, even though the overall losses are expected to be tens of millions as a result of interest payments, plus exceptional currency exchange losses and refinancing fees.

If a club thats in £1bn worth of debt can make it look like they break even then any team can.

I think we'll find that the billionaire businessmen that own City may have taken these matters into consideration already?

£10million+ per year for naming rights of the stadium, there's 1/5th of the problem gone in the blink of an eye, then there's the additional revenue from the new development, increased gate reciepts, increased shirt sponsorship, prize money etc.

On the face of it the article does not make good reading, however i am not too concerned, Top men have top lawyers and top accountants, there will be loop holes that can be used and challenges that can be made.

Don't worry too much i am sure we have it all in hand.

so many other clubs playing in Europe now are in serious trouble and they don't have owners like ours

+ the champions league revenue circa £30 million per season

City argue, with some justification, that owner Sheikh Mansour's investment of hundreds of millions is rebuilding not just a club but a community, with spending on everything from facilities to improved pies, a better website and an academy aimed at nurturing home-grown players. (No other club can better City's figure of fielding seven full England internationals in league games alone this season, albeit not all raised in Manchester).

I've bolded the snide parts that convince me the writer has an agenda, don't worry our people know what they're doing and this writer is betraying his hope that our project fails rather than any real insight.

just read this

<a class="postlink" href="http://www.sportingintelligence.com/2010/10/08/analysis-why-manchester-city-face-a-struggle-to-avoid-european-ban-081003/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://www.sportingintelligence.com/201 ... an-081003/</a>

sorry if its the same.

Don't see how we've got a prayer personally. I thought the current signings would be ok but seen as they will still hinder our financies for the next few years, I don't see anyway possible of us making these UEFA financial rules
