Corbett, 65, who has worked at the club for more than 20 years, was sacked by his employers, security firm G4S, for a number of alleged breaches of contract involving divulging sensitive information about the players.
These supposed ‘breaches’ include telling a disabled fan, who was a regular collector of Cityautographs, that the team bus was on its way to Manchester airport.
City, who claim they found out about Corbett’s exit only after it was a fait accompli, say they cannot interfere with G4S company policy despite his job being based at City’s Carrington training base.
