It’ll be interesting to see how he does after this team is dismantled in the Summer. If he does well with the money he gets from all the transfers and builds another good side, I’ll start to believe he is the real deal.

I thought he was a young coach, he’s actually older than Pep.

Perhaps we are just rubbish at set-pieces because we have small players. If I were City, every corner would be a short corner, because we are much more dangerous from open play than from crosses. Either that or buy a Dzeko.

Pulis would be no help unless he could make us taller, I may be misremebering, but thought we took more short corners last season which seem to work better for us. Free kicks always seem more dangerous out on the right hand side when KDB whips them into the near post for Aguero, think we should try and work corners out to him there to whip back in as the oppostion try and come out.

In 2016/17 the PL average conversion rate from corners was 5%. WBA were top on 10%, City bottom on 3%. Other studies have shown that a 5% conversion rate is fairly typical.

The striking thing for me is just how infrequently goals are scored from corners, not just by City even if we're below average. They're just not as big a threat as people might assume. I

I believe that Pep has said in the past that he doesn't believe that corners are a particularly effective goal scoring option. And the types of corners that are most likely to lead to goals (high balls into the middle of the penalty area) are most likely to lead to a loss of possession. Apparently Pep hates corners that are easily caught by the GK or headed out to lead to a counter attack. I think that's why we tend to play whipped in corners to to the near post as, even if we don't often score from them, we often pick up the second ball and maintain pressure.
