In my opinion, him leaving to follow wenger would be a stupid move, leaving a top club, where you are learning from the best, and going to a club who won't provide the funds to take them to our level.
Agreed. If it's offered to him, he'll probably take it. But I really don't think he should. It's too soon for him and he's in a great position right now, learning from the best. Long term, he'd be much better off staying at City for another 2-3 years. His stock is only going to rise over that period.I think Arteta is the perfect man for the job but that doesn't mean that the job is perfect for him. I hope he stays for selfish reasons and also because the time isn't right for that job but I suspect it might fall to him and I can't fault him for taking it.
Loaded post but eh?
Hopefully the fact that most of the back room staff have been with Pep a long time means they will stay. It would be a risk for Arsenal, appointing an untried coach. Even Pep had coached the Barcelona second team before he broke through. It would be sad to see him go as he seems to have forged a great partnership with Pep and would offer the opportunity for a seamless transition when he decides to go.It does seem like a decent enough chunk of our players’ development is down to Arteta’s work. He’s going to be a big loss, hopefully we don’t lose too many more of the backroom team that might go with him. Arsenal will do well with him.
Thats a pretty decent idea actuallyIf Arteta does go, why not see if Iniesta is interested in that capacity, too?
I never knew arteta was our no2 I thought he was way down the pecking order
Who’s the dude who always sits talking to pep on the bench then ?
