Yes, but the question stands whether 433 or 424 or 442 or 451 or 244, or 343, why is he dire for us wide, yet half decent for England, is it the rest of our players that make him look poor ? He looks good for us in the middle.....

I think it's the fact that in our team he is playing alongside midfielders with very similar style and attributes,and that is our current main weakness.At Villa he again played in an orthodox 442 with pacey widemen and looked the business.
I'm convinced our set up,and the players in it,are causing his game to suffer.

Oh I agree, but why does he look better wide for England than he does for City ? Its the wide bit I'm asking about, I know he can play in the middle, and he usually looks good wide for England, but he looks lost wide at City at times.

2. I think he's done okay for us, sacrifices himself somewhat, but we need it
3. Needs time to get on the same wavelength as Silva/Yaya/Tevez/Balo

I was refering to England,he definitely seems more suited to the wide role with them than he does with us,the extra man in the four provides that imo,plus the slower pace of internationals may also be a factor?

I'm with you on the central midfield role though,that is without doubt his most influential position,the questions are - who plays alongside him and who gets left out?
