What a number of the liberal brigade probably wont be aware of is that she only turned 15 in june, yet apparently reported as to be seen holding hands with him back in feb agood 3/4 months before shes even turned 15, so at 15 im reading shes possibly got the intelligence to fully understand love etc it appears this has been brewing/grooming from her being at least 14, so when and how do we determine to give a definite answer as to what the age of consent should be ?, how anyone can try and defend or sympathise with this manipulating nasty nasty piece of work is beyond me hope he gets charged with grooming as statutory rape would be hard to prove good kicking coming his way no doubt when he gets inside.

P.s no more gillick talk either its only applicable in medical circumstances

Holding hands is now a crime FFS

I held my nieces hand when she started to walk is that a crime?

Just so I can be clear about this because things have become a little muddy

Are there those in this thread who think it's really OK because they are in love and the age difference is irrelevant?

Are there those in this thread who prefer not to cast any judgement on the case until it comes before a court of law?

You see this where I am confused, there is no doubt in my mind that the couple eloped, can we all agree on this point? Or are there some who think he just took her away for a few days in France, for no other reason to brush up on her French?

It's getting a little confusing, those who say that people should not cast judgement are really demanding that we never talk or debate any legal case before it comes to court, is this what some people want?

I think I have made my position clear in all of this

Why didnt he wait a couple of months until she was 16...
It wouldn't have mattered, strictly speaking he has to wait 4 years after being her teacher before he can have a relationship with her. All to do with the position of trust thing.
whilst that has been quoted several times and is written down i don't know if it has actually been tested in a court yet

Rascal I doubt you even beleive what you have just said! You are attempting to defend this guy or at least give him a chance, but what if it turns out he had been grooming her from the age of 12? Your going to look a but silly

Come the Easter break she will be shagging some spotty 6th former and he will be waiting to be shagged by some inmate.

So everyone's a winner. I like a happy ending.

They are both a pair of idiots, him being the biggest idiot. He deserves to be punished but not to the "cut off his balls" level some people are calling for. She was 15, not 6.

Nobody is 'demanding that we never talk or debate any legal case before it comes to court'.
What some of us are saying is that we shouldn't pre-judge a situation before we know the facts.
I don't see what is 'confusing' about that.

My opinion is yes, they've eloped but he's abused a position of trust. Teachers, doctors, etc must be above and beyond this professionally. I don't consider him a paedophile unless he has been fucking her for a period of time which is quite possible. So yes, I will reserve judgement until the facts come out. Of course we should debate it.

So you are saying that he could be innocent of any crime?
