indeed it is... My stepdaughter who is mixed race calls herself 'half caste' FFS! I call her Nicole....

Why do many mixed race players claim to be black?

Take Wio for example - he's a founder and member of the federation of black players apparently but he's as much white as he is black.

He is as much white as he is black and it's something I've never understood.

It's like all that "Barak Obama is the first black president of the United States" stuff....erm, I'll think you find he isn't. He's the first mixed race president of the US.

Don't know the answer to the question,but you get folk born and bred in England for example who will call themselves Irish/Scot/welsh whatever because of there parentage and who they feel more affiliated with.
So its probably something along them lines.
But tbh aslong as said person isn't a bell end it doesn't matter anymore, you get bell ends in all shapes.sizes and colors.
Good and bad in us all,the trick is to get rid of the bad and the rest of us enjoy our serlves. =)

On one thing we can all agree: the camel is a prize bell end.

I didn't say it mattered you ignoramus. I was merely asking out of curiosity why Wio sees himself as black when he in fact isn't.

Simply because historically white people considered them as being more black than white but is this the most pointless discussion ever, who cares. Rio is tw*t his colour is irrelevant.

I don't think it's unique to footballers - I'd hazard a guess that many mixed race people will have been on the end of discrimination in much the same way as black people and as a result tend to identify more with the "black viewpoint" for want of a better phrase.

it's and interesting question and that's an interesting retort.

I had never really thought about it before.

Deep down it doesn't really matter though
