Watching Portland vs Seattle, 2-2 probably the only real rivalry in mls, great atmosphere and great game.
LA v San Jose is quite a rivalry as well.
Genuinely hate each other and even many "incidents" with wannabe Green St types from both sides.

New England Revs Play Off Game Today

Off to see New England Revolution today in the play offs against Columbus Crew.
Winning 4-2 from the away leg, winner faces NY Red Bulls in the Atlantic final.

5pm kick off, arriving 1.30pm for the tailgate party in the car park. Best bit about that is pissing on united as these are the bogs in the car park :D
Up The Revs!

Re: New England Revs Play Off Game Today

Won 3-1 tonight, 7-3 on aggregate. Face Bradley Wright Phillips and Thierry Henri and the rest of the NY Red Bulls next. If the away game (which is first) is on a Saturday I shall go,
Henri has yet to play at Gillette stadium as he wont play on a plastic pitch. Will see if he changes his mind for this one......................
Go Revs

Re: New England Revs Play Off Game Today

Good luck man, I don't like NY much espeically with Henry twat face. That was my first MLS game vs them about the only time TFC decided to win that season

Re: New England Revs Play Off Game Today

Just purchased a joint coach and match ticket for $28 (17.80 quid) for next Sunday's semi final 1st leg play off game New York Red Bulls v The Revs.
The club has laid on free coaches for 1,100 fans.

Kick off is 1pm on Sunday, coach departs 6am and beer allowed on board! My first away game and it is a local derby (200 miles away!!!)
Mad 4 it.
Up The Revs.....

Insanely jealous. Imagine City putting on an £18 ticket + coach deal for supporters to get to a important end of season title-clash game in London (closest analogy for a 200 mile round trip MLS cup game). English football's got it all wrong.

Have fun OP, I saw NYRB take on Toronto when over there the other month on holiday and they were absolute wank, if that makes you feel any better.

I don't really get the Americanisms in the post; 'play offs' - I'm sure its not for promotion, so what is it for?
'Atlantic Final' - As its not a cup match I assume the Atlantic winner plays the Pacific winner for the ....? ....Continental title?

I'm sure I could look it up if I tried, but I'm too lazy.

The MLS is split into two leagues, east and west (and the middle teams fall whichever is nearest!)
So yes the winners of the Atlantic league (which is my name for it, it is the eastern conference or something like that) plays the Pacific (western conference) in the grand final.
Previously the final was played at a neutral ground but they attracted poor attendances (obviously if say New England play LA or Seattle in New Orleans!) so this year the game will be played at the home of the team in the final with the best league record.
Should The Revs make the final, it will be in either LA or Seattle..... not many away fans there for either, but should be a full house......
