Sounds familiar ;-)
ours has a better free-kick though.

Ha, ha, ha. I was thinking of Micah.
Micah? I was torn between kolarov and yaya, both wrong.

-- Wed Jan 22, 2014 7:10 pm --

You are aware that he brought Silva on for Aguero? It was the change in shape that changed the game, not that the like for like swap was for an infinitely better player.

Anyone with any common sense could see we set up for that game wrong, and Pellegrini showed his naivety that it took him 70 minutes to do anything about it. Hope he learns from his mistakes.
here we have people assigning players to certain positions without looking at what's going on on the pitch again, go check the heat maps, Merlin played as a striker in both games, change in shape my arse.

Lol
as I said, go check the heat maps, they're on the UEFA site somewhere, Silva was literally right beside dzeko all game in Munich and played alongside negredo in Manchester.

I was at the game mate, I saw it for myself. If you were at that game and thought Silva for Aguero was like for like then you're on drugs.

Us getting a bit more of a grip of that home leg against Bayern coincided almost to the second with Silva coming off the bench so how much of it was down to Silva giving us some control of possession and how much was down to them taking their foot off the gas? Would the match have been completely different if Silva had been fit to start? Who knows?

Dead right. Silva turned the game. Bayern don't "take their foot off the gas", just like we don't.

I argued and argued with people the day after that game when the prevailing attitude was 'they are in a different class to us'.

PMSL at pellegrini's 'naivity'.

So naive he got 15 points from 18 and beat them at their ground

Think you misunderstood, I was referring to his naivety in setting up in a 442 against the best team in the world, who were essentially playing 6 in midfield.

It proved to be naive didn't it because we got absolutely outclassed and were lucky to only concede 3. Good job he changed it after 70 minutes, but a shame it took him so long.

It has absolutley nothing to do with the shape...we simply couldn;t keep possesion with the players we had.

Silva was a second striker at the Allianze Arena . Without the ball our formation was 4-4-2 .

If your opinion is that Silva came on for Kun and played exactly the same role, only he did it far better, despite never having played there for City before, that's a lovely idea, but unfortunately for you it's just wrong. :)

As I said, Silva was a second striker at the Allianze Arena ... A second striker is a deep lying striker .. one that is responsible for scoring goals and creating chances. Examples of second striker = Rooney, Tevez, Jovetic, etc ..

Tell me, what formation is this:

And who is standing next to Dzeko ?

Pellers will play 4-4-2 and see what problems we can cause them

Nasri is a massive miss for this game and Milner will be of no use whatsoever against their midfield
