Plus a 20% sell on clause. I know he has a long contract with chelsea, but wait to Real Madrid come calling in 2 years time hell be out of there.

The Mac Allister one was out of our hands. His father had been courting lfc for the past year, we got him to sign a new contract with us just before he went to the world cup, there was a £55m + add ons release clause to clubs wanting him, but a Mechanism for lfc whuch was £35m + £20m in add ons.

Dont think many thought he would have a great world cup.

Because wanted to keep him for the rest of the season, player only wanted them and his dad had been courting liverpool for the past year. In all honesty i dont think they thought he would have such a good world cup. It was a safegaurd to Guarantee a transfer fee.

Caicedo with out a doubt. MacAllister we have replacements already, but Caicedo was great at winning the ball back in mid, and also was the pivot to playing out from the back. I trust the club in whoever they bring in.

Interestingly there us a player in England with Similar stats as Caicedo, Brighton have just loaned him out again to Northampton i think it is. Marc Leonard a name to keep an eye on as well as Moran.

It was £5m but they pulled out due to the 3 Organizations that had ownership of him. We had already dealt with South American sides who all seem to do the same, this made it easier for us to step in and buy for £4.5m.

Yes very true. It is ridiculously difficult at our level (sorry that sounds arrogant) to balance the ability to give opportunity to younger players and maintain the levels of success. Because to keep a happy squad and keep players invested, who are not at that moment in the first eleven, they need the sub minutes and so its tough to give the kids any proper game time.

It must be a real double edged sword for Brighton fans though, pride in watching these young players develop but a sense of frustration to see the rewards of their talents being enjoyed elsewhere. Hopefully you can grab a cup this year as long as its not at our expense.

I see we are both after an Argentinian young lad. IMHO, he would be bette off coming to us for his development then being sold on. Maybe City pull out give us a free path to develope him and have a sell on clause to City for £30m.

I cant see him if u get him us taking him on loan.

Luca Barrington played well yesterday scoring 2 v Chelsea.
