Nottingham Forest 0-3 in the FA Cup nearly pushed me over the edge. It was just after an expensive Christmas and New Year but I found the cash to go and was just cold by final whistle. Absolutely cold. I drank myself stupid for a few hours and eventually got home at 11pm.
Was this game in the mid 90s?. If so I remember it well and it stopped me going for a couple of weeks at least, it was the worst away game I've ever been to, it started on the way there when I was sat in the boot of an estate car getting a sore arse sat on a toolbox when some woman drove into the back of us, ended up getting there late at halftime and was already 1-0 down, then they scored again right at the start of 2nd half so fuck all to cheer about, game ended 3-0' got back to the car to find it had been towed away as we had parked a foot over some cunts driveway due to arriving late, then while having to walk fucking miles to the police pound to get the car back some forest prick tried to run us over and hurt my mates foot even though they had won, it then cost a fortune getting the car out, never been to the shithole since but will always follow city

Not sure if he meant the game about 4 years ago? FA Cup game, early rounds, think it was a Saturday afternoon from memory. We were at home, and dire.

Between christmas and the end of the season under Pearce,I lost it completely, said to my daughters "See you at full time" and walked out after an hour.stayed on the "curly-werly" watching the action on Alan Turing Way.Felt sick of watching dross. To think he is involved in the England under 21 teams is beyond belief.

Chelsea v City in the Premier League, in about 2003ish. I was 15, It was my birthday, I had asked to go away for the weekend with my mates and his parents to Wales (they had a family caravan there which was great fun for weekends away). At the last minute my dad said I can't go, but we are going to Chelsea away instead. Said I dont want to but was dragged all the way to fucking London. What followed was a 5-0 defeat, and we were awful. The journey home was bad, my mates texting saying "you should have come to Wales", and me being in a foul mood. That was a low point for me.

Yeah I remember that game I didn't go as I was away visiting relatives so automatically just thought of that shit day trip to nottingham

With me, I'd decided to quit my job / industry as a New Year's resolution and spent that FA Cup weekend thinking about what to tell the Boss and what I'd do next. Needless to say my mind became occupied on other things after final whistle.

This. Steals a living as a coach.

The Pearce season when we scored 10 goals at home all year forced me and my dad to not renew (coupled with the fact that i'd just gone from Junior prices up to the next price bracket and couldn't really afford it) but I wouldn't have said i'd "had enough", I'm only young and there a lot more people who have suffered a lot longer than I have, but fuck me, that was one dour season.

Millwall away in 1998 in the 3rd div. Our black players were booed throughout the game and we were looking like losing 1-0 when we got the equaliser on 90 mins and then Bradbury missed a sitter to win it in injury time. It was such a poisonous atmosphere before and during the game I lost interest.
We were held behind for an hour and it was not clear until we were let out why. The Millwall "fans" had spent the previous hour attacking the police who were trying to clear a path for us to South Bermondsey station. There were bricks and bottles everywhere and the fighting between Millwall and the police continued while we walked quietly to the station to get out of the f**king place. I missed the next few games and didn't go until the Wycombe game a few weeks later.
That night put me off football and City because I realised how far we had fallen and nights like that were going to be regular and it was City's fault for putting me through it.

0 1 against Luton. Massive day, on the kippax brilliant sunshine with a mate. Got ice cream at half time from the back of the stand then got 'carried' down the Kippax to the bottom. 50 odd thousand [think 57 ish] and a few hundred hatters fans. Worst moment but never never questioned my support for them. Id go and watch them play in a sunday pub league.

5 1 against Charlton for promotion restored my faith, also saw 10 1 against Huddersfield. In north stand with 80 year old fella [didnt know him] who I had to tell him who scored as he was half blind - asked why he bothered, he looked at me with a strange 'why do you need to ask' look on his face.

Mostly lows but some highs and the best at the end of this season, though I shed a tear when we beat the rags in the semi, reminded me of me dad and listening to the radio as Paul power scored the winner against Ipswich ...we went mad ....me mum thought we were mad! Happy days ....you need the lows to really experience the highs, they taste so much sweeter.
