And the end could have accommodated far more people which caused fans to spread out.
This created a kind of emptiness and did not bring us together.
Also it was serrated by a plastic screen which did not help.

Exactly this. It was a strange "end" with far too many unoccupied seats due to the paltry amount of tickets given to us, support spread out and segregated, no roof and fuck all to get anyone going from the TEAM.

But the send off we gave the team at half time was amazing..

Very true mate. I think some of our fans were a bit edgy too because we knew we were up against a strong team with no Yaya.

Four days earlier at 'Boro the support was amazing.
I was at both games and I agree we were very quite in the first half at Monaco.
I think the difference was the performance of the team in the first half, it was a real horror show, they never turned up at all.
The other factors mentioned (running track, half full etc) were also contributing factors.
No excuses really. On the night the team was crap and so were the fans.
