Over the 2 games, they were better. Got stuck into us immediately in both games and we couldn't cope in either. Toure wouldn't have made any difference. Perhaps play Fernando in midfield for KDB, weather the storm and then get at them ? Who knows? Bollox to it. Scousers Sunday, now uber critical
 
The fact that we need to spend about £350m to make this side great after millions spent years before says it all.

Huge huge huge few league games coming up. We all know the title is gone so we have to concentrate on top four now. That's our level unfortunately.

Huge summer too, if we want to get to the latter stages of this competition next year. At best we need:

- minimum of 1 goalkeeper. (Willy is getting old and bravo isnt even a number 2): £20m
- 3 fullbacks. £20m each average: £60m
- minimum of 1, likely 2 centre backs (Vinny injury prone and a reliable partner for Stones): £80-90m
- 2 central midfielders (Silva getting older, ditto yaya): £80-100m
- 2 strikers of Jesus/Aguero class: 2x£40/50m = £80-100m

Total spend of circa £320-370m.

Depressing but nobody died so move on, fight for top four and rebuild again in the summer.

Agreed mate, but its a bit too soon to be saying oh, move on, minutes after we've just gone out, as if it didn't matter
 
Only playing for 45 minutes, cost us again. We really do need to start better.
It costs us EVERY time. That and some of our decision making and finishing.
But hey ho, it's not like we haven't been here before.

Disappointed the way we have exited the comp but still the war isn't over and by next season (fingers crossed) we will have better full-backs.

We have the makings of a really good team, pep knows what he is doing and he will sort this. Beating spurs in the fa cup final will do for me this season, 1981 hurt a lot for a long time!
 
Another manager with no plan B. Not been able to defend all season and still didn't attempt to address it in January
