Monaco post match

Opposition fans i can understand, but our own? fucking bizarre.

I saw it live, went absolutely apeshit, got home, saw the reaction on here with some saying it's not a penalty or it's debatable, put the match on and not only saw it was clear as fucking day but couldn't believe that the likes of Rio Ferdinand were even saying it was a blatant penalty. Seriously don't get some of our fans.

It was an absolutely nailed on penalty. Shocking decision not to give it.
It is really difficult not to have the feeling that something in the game in bent against City. These "debatable" ref decisions happen again and again in the CL, and funny enough almost always against us. I have stopped hoping it will even out over one or more seasons. We just have to win that competition to wrestle this down.

Whilst it should undoubtedly have been given, the decision to book Aguero was far more shocking than not giving the penalty (same as with Dean and Sterling). I've never had a problem with referees not giving something that later proves to be wrong. If he wasn't certain it was a penalty, he shouldn't give it. My problem is when they give things that haven't happened. By definition, he must have been certain Aguero dived; as he didn't, it was by far the worst of the two decisions.
It's the same with offsides. If the eighth replay and two lines drawn across the pitch 'proves' a player was offside and a goal shouldn't have stood, so what? On the other hand, if it proves another player wasn't and a goal is disallowed, that's a much worse decision, in my opinion.

Five fucking three, excitement beyond anything and all the papers and media talk about is how shit the defending was -mainly ours!!!!

What puzzles me is how they can talk about outstanding strikers in one sentence and then in the next criticise the defenders for not being able to stop those outstanding strikers!!!

Also amazes me how limited the pundits and media are when trying to understand Pep. Pep has made his methods clear time and time again but it's like no one wants to listen.

That was a game about the attackers. No defence in the world could have coped with either attack. Enjoy it and acclaim it for what it was. An outstanding game of football.

well said

I've watched it dozens of times from every angle. The pixels on your screen must configure themselves in a different way to mine. What I see, and bear in mind at full speed both players were flying with virtually no time to even think about a contrivance, is a player round the keeper and not so much as a 1/20th of a second later that keeper's swiping right leg take him out across the bridge of his left foot. Sergio doesn't stick his leg down or sideways to initiate contact. Nor does he jump particularly high, but then again he's not obliged to. It's not up to him to get out of the way of ill judged challenges. It's the most stonewall penalty imaginable
True and correct. However, you get tools in football as in all walks of life who just don't know when to give it a rest. This guy is clearly one of them!

was at Piccadilly station yesterday back of 2 and about 50 Monaco fans were getting train to London
seemed to be having a whale of a time but plenty old bill around

Lose 6-4 we go through.

I think I'll pass :-)

That scoreline is 650/1, might have a €5 on it for shits and giggles. 18 goals over 2 legs would be some bloody way to set a record as well.
