So if we get through the last eight will probably be:-
  • City
  • Chelsea
  • Bus Wreckers
  • PSG
  • Real Madrid
  • Porto
  • Dortmund
  • Bayern
If we get a German side will we be off to Hungary again?

As I understand it, the "home" side is responsible for arranging the new venue. If we could find a "home" venue more suited to our needs than the opposition's that met all the football and covid requirements then it could be there. Conversely though the away leg could still be in Hungary

I think it's fair enough that the game has been moved. It makes it fair for the integrity of the competition that both sides have not had a 'home' advantage. That said I don't think away goals should count, but obviously UEFA couldn't use common sense to change this.

It does seem counterintuitive, but you can only win on away goals if your opponents score in their home leg.
Fuck me, I never realised that. Two things still puzzle me:
When the ref tosses coin before game starts, if you guess correctly and pick which end to kick towards, can the other team say they don’t want to kick off?
And if there is a drop ball inside the area can you nominate your keeper for the drop ball then just have him grab it after first bounce?

I assume our game tomorrow is too late for us to fly/train home before Sunday morning, so I would hope we are training in London on Sunday, and flying direct to Budapest on Monday, so the squad will likely be away from "home" from tomorrow morning, until Wednesday afternoon, that's a lot to ask of them, but reduces travelling a little.

In fairness its a 2 hour flight not much difference to a 2 hour train journey to London
if the first leg was in Germany we would have a reason to complain but given the reason if we don't win the tie we have no excuses
A two hour flight to Budapest from Manchester?

Concorde was scrapped some years back.

All drop balls are now uncontested and drop balls in the area do automatically get dropped to the keeper.

And yes, in theory. If you win the toss you can choose ends or kick off, if you choose ends the other team can choose not tohave kick off!

Can't for the life of me understand why Hungary is being used as a neutral venue.
There's a new covid wave in Eastern Europe at the moment and Hungary is one of the worst affected countries.
