perhaps im becoming my dad but i walked past a group of students today who were sat outside a chippy and tucking into a well earned fish supper after a tough day demonstrating about whatever.anyway,one of these well educated tree huggers was unwrapping his chips n fishbits and proceeded to cob his paper/chip wrapping onto the deck and watch it float off in the breeze expecting the litter fairys to hurry on after it and dispose of for him without any second thought.as you know i aint the most academically qualified guy around town but even my up bringing and education taught me how to locate a fuckin bin.needless to say i snorted to young swampy"oy sunshine,once the floor gets full of your litter,why not use the bin!!?"

Most people are weeping, gaping anuses. I'm sorry, but they are, so it stands to reason that most students will be too but it isn't anything to do with them being students.

The whole lot of them? Come on now, the well behaved majority was shown up by a rent-a-mob minority. The right to protest is an important part of the UK's status as a liberal democracy. Yes, you get a proportion of lowlives who use it as an opportunity to go around smashing things up, and they should quite rightly be locked up. It's quite a sad indication of the state of this country's media that a major issue such as this can only make the front pages if a proportion of the capital has been vandalised. I have written to my MP, and he has assured me that the Labour position is voting against the increase. In my case it doesn't really matter; it might only really count if your MP is a Lib Dem because Labour are definitely voting against it and the tories will definitely be voting for it. So if you're in Hazel Grove or Cheadle you might make some difference.

Peaceful protest doesn't appear to work any more, millions of people peacefully protested an illegal war yet their protests were ignored.

I'd be all for firebombing banks and police stations. Hanging piggies from town halls and leaving them to rot until the people have freedom, justice and equality.

sad but true. everything comes with a price and to get the government to listen you have to be as inconvenient as possible. if violence is the only way then it has to be done, that being said i don't think poxy students have the right to protest until they have contributed. so either work a couple of years and save to go to uni or get in debt and STFU

Your elegibility to protest is based on tax contributions now is it? I despair. Fact is, saving or not the vast majority of students will come out of uni with some form of debt. I'm prepared to contribute to my education, I am obviously going to be benefiting long term from it. However the tripling of fees will create a two tier system, a better deal for the rich who can pay it back immediately and a worse deal for the poor who have market rate interest tagged onto the end. Calling people with a circa £30k debt to the state 'tax dodgers' just doesn't make sense, if they're paying for the privilege of having a graduate job they're paying higher income tax on top of their student loan. Don't forget; the previous generation of students had university paid for entirely by the state. No debts, nothing. If you want tax dodgers you look elsewhere. One of them even bankrolls the Conservative Party.
