Forest apparently also pissed off that Spurs know what his release clause is. There wouldn’t be much point in having one if it was a secret would they? Presumably his agent just told Spurs what it was?

Whilst I agree it's extremely unlikely, you can actualy actualy sign people with injuries. There is no pass / fail in a medical as such, its a risk assessment and the buying club make the decisions based on the information the medical provides
 
Forest owner is obviously seeing his arse over the fact Spurs have found out about a release clause he tried to hide.

‘Never denied it but never confirmed it’ - hahahaha. Regardless of the fact it’s wankery to try and hide the clause. Surely they realise that them not answering the question is evidence enough.

 
Decent signing for Spurs, but I'm not overly bothered we have not brought him in. We need to concentrate on getting a top quality RB.

An injury wouldn’t necessarily mean he would fail his medical, that isn’t how medicals work as such. They are essentially risk assessments so in theory if this injury is deemed a one off (I’m not even sure what his injury is to be honest) with no longer term issues he could still pass.

It’s why you get some players who will pass for one team but not another. If the signing would eat up a huge amount of budget then a players injury history might be deemed more of a risk than to a club who are just signing a player who won’t cost them too much.

Generally though a team won’t want to buy an injured player and pay for two months of his wages while they can’t use him.
 
I think Forest are moaning because they thought they could keep that release clause a secret yet Spurs did their digging, found it and triggered it.

Forest paid with add-ons (which I am predicting he has met) £42m, add in the 10% sell on clause and Forest are only going to make £12m on him.

Whoever put that release clause in his contract I am expecting to be sacked or has been sacked already.

My only take away is that what were we enquiring when we showed interest?

We were quoted 80/90 m and Spurs probably getting him for secret release clause of 60m which his agent never told us

May be right, but how could Forest keep it a secret, surely the player and his reps would know it existed and just tell any interested teams.

Happened to Chelsea and Olise Chelsea backed out after Palace came to know that his agent tipped Chelsea about release clause palace threatened and Chelsea signed Palmer
