That just says how bad the recruitment has been these past windows. We were looking at Barcola at the same time as we were looking at Doku and we chose Doku.

Don’t think Doku has been a bad signing at all and has a bright future here. Barcola could’ve easily been not as good here against better quality opposition. Olise was the real one we missed out upon.

yet Doku has 2 less goals and 3 less assists than him having played 5 less games and been in and out through injury in a team that spent 3 momths playing inconsistant football and unlike forest we play weekly against teams that sit and defend deep in numbers.

He really is being overhyped for what is yes his best season to date in 6 years as a premier league regular.

That’s a different point entirely. I don’t see the criticism for a young player in his second season in a very dysfunctional team who is always in 2v1/3v1 situations. Give him proper full-backs (Cambiaso) etc and he’ll thrive.

He wouldn't start for Liverpool. He wouldn't start ahead of Cole Palmer for Chelsea. He wouldn't start above Odegaard for Arsenal. He wouldn't start above Sandro Tonali or Guimaraes for Newcastle, he wouldn't start above Bruno for United. He also wouldn't start ahead of Kulusevski for Spurs.

We need a lot better than this guy.

Each to their own anyway. Personally think Doku has done well and will get much better. Also think MGW could do a good job as an #8 where we’ve lacked energy, technicality, ability to pick out Haaland and Marmoush. Yes, I wouldn’t pay £100 million for him - but put him at £70m or so and it’s not bad. Think people expect us to sign Pedri and Barella every window

Not sure if you are defendingMGW or Doku here? I was defening Jeremy and pointng out you cannot use Doku in this conversation to say we need MGW because on the whole he has performed as well as MGW in more difficult circumstances than the forest team have had

Do you want us to compete with the likes of PSG or not?

If you do, these type of signings will push us even further away from competing with the European elite.

Where is the middle ground between Barella or Pedri to Gibbs White?

It's like the bollocks of not signing Bellingham or Rice so next best was fucking Nunes

Yeah I was saying the points made about Doku were unfair imo and didn’t think criticising the recruitment decision was valid. I think he’s been pretty good on the whole while playing in a dysfunctional team.

or Murphy for newcastle, Iwobi for fulham or Kluivert and Damsgard for brentford

In your opinion anyway. He wouldn’t be my first choice but certainly think he could do a very good job here as a number 8. I’d also bring in a natural #10 aswell.

I’m just saying I think many people think we are just going to be able to sign the very best players every single window. We need to sign a certain numbers of HG players for registration. He’s not a KDB replacement - he’s coming in as an 8 if this even happens probably to replace Nunes in the squad. He’s been one of the best midfielders in the prem this season - the star player in a Forest team competing for UCL places. We’ve lacked a lot of energy this year and he can offer that - he’s also got ties to a lot of players in the squad and we saw in the fixture against us what he can do.
