Since when the fuck are they the benchmark?Do you want us to compete with the likes of PSG or not?
If you do, these type of signings will push us even further away from competing with the European elite.

Personally think he would start ahead of all three. Murphy plays a different position aswell - would say Iwobi is a different different profile too.or Murphy for newcastle, Iwobi for fulham or Kluivert and Damsgard for brentford
If you are not able to buy the best you can and settle for players who have had a good season for an overachieving team then you should be prepared to address the same issue in a season or so.I’m just saying I think many people think we are just going to be able to sign the very best players every single window. We need to sign a certain numbers of HG players for registration. He’s not a KDB replacement - he’s coming in as an 8 if this even happens probably to replace Nunes in the squad. He’s been one of the best midfielders in the prem this season - the star player in a Forest team competing for UCL places. We’ve lacked a lot of energy this year and he can offer that - he’s also got ties to a lot of players in the squad and we saw in the fixture against us what he can do.
In a Pep team, an attacking midfielder needs to be able to play across all positon as Gibbs-White can, but Iwobi and damsgaard have played those roles too where when needed to can play left, centre or right while murphy is predominently a wide right player he can play central, on Kluivert mentioned is yet to be used in versatile rolesPersonally think he would start ahead of all three. No I do agree we have to try and settle for the best - but also think Morgan is a big talent in his self. I do think there’s a bit of bias due to the fact he plays for a club typically not in the big 6.If you are not able to buy the best you can and settle for players who have had a good season for an overachieving team then you should be prepared to address the same issue in a season or so.
This lesson wasn't learnt with Phillips, Kovacic or Nunes and if we sign him it clearly hasn't again.
Yeah I personally just think Gibbs-White is a level above those guys. I understand the point that’s hes on a similar level to him - personally just see him as a superior talent who’s younger also.In a Pep team, an attacking midfielder needs to be able to play across all positon as Gibbs-White can, but Iwobi and damsgaard have played those roles too where when needed to can play left, centre or right while murphy is predominently a wide right player he can play central, on Kluivert mentioned is yet to be used in versatile roles
the point wasn't would we be looking at them though it was MGW would not play ahead of them in their respective teams so why would he walk into ours
As has been touched on by a few posters, if he is coming in to replace Nunes, and as part of a (hopefully) successful rebuild, it makes perfect sense (depending on his cost), as it is definitely a step up
Since when the fuck are they the benchmark?
But we are going to be paying upwards of £100m for an upgrade on Nunes?
We could have had Bruno G for £100m last summer, should have just paid that.
If we need a HG player to replace Grealish, there are much better options to choose from like Frimpong for €40m buyout. A player that would give us the option to go 3 at the back with flying wing backs.
I personally don't see how he fits out team.
He has thrived immensely from being in a team that has statically the lowest amount of possession in the league. He has all that space to run into and play his game.
He will be coming up against parked tanks every week at City and won't know what he has to do when he can't run into space anymore.
Each to their own anyway. Personally think Doku has done well at times ,and willbut needs to get much better.
Michu had a decent season once, did that season's performances and stats indicate that he was a top talent destined to be a future superstar, or..... ;)Nothing quite like blue moon to write off a player who not only hasn’t played a game for us yet, hasn’t even been signed.
He’s going to finish ahead of the rest of our squad in the league table so maybe wind your necks in a bit eh.
nonsense, they are 3 points ahead of us having won one more game than us, we have both lost 9 games each, their form suggests they could still drop to 5th below usThey are showing it this season. They are currently a far better team than us. That is just the reality.
They are playing at a very high level. We need to get back to our best level to compete with these teams.
I think if Gibbs moves, it’ll be for around £55M—£60M if we’re being rinsed—due to the English premium and the fact he still has two years left on his contract. Anything above that range simply isn’t worth it.I'll add my view is on the current asking price quoted.
As areplacement for.nunes and costimg anything below £35M then he is a consideration for the squad, anything above he isn't worth it
