This is the only thing I'm going to say about Jack Grealish on this thread.

Personally I think he was over priced when we signed him, As its always the way when it comes to signing an English player. Anyway, People have short memories when it comes to Jack, He was fucking outstanding in our Treble winning season especially in Europe! Himself and Bernie occupied the wide areas and were both incredible, Grealish played a huge part in our club winning the Treble and for that alone £100m was a fucking bargain...

Where is everyone getting that he would be playing 8 if he joined? Granted I've not seen loads of him but my impression has always been he's a direct 10 that tries to make things happen and loses the ball a fair amount. I don't think pep has ever played that kind of player in the 8 role. He's almost never played kdb or foden there for this reason.
I'd be very surprised if that's where we were planning to play him. For the price Forest will demand it seems utter madness to me, regardless of position. I know that we may need to bring in a couple homegrown players this summer but I feel midfield is not where you compromise, especially with the state of ours atm.

The 4 main wide players (Grealish/Doku/Savinho/Bernardo) have played 152 games this season and scored 15 goals (i know Bernardo/Grealish have played inside sometimes). Worse than 1 goal every 10 games. It’s horrific form! Salah has 33 goals himself…

Bobb has promise but he’s scored 1 goal for us i think and is very inexperienced. We simply cannot go into next season without significantly improving the wide areas, unless we have given up on the title already!!

I’d go with Foden/Grealish at AM before spunking a fortune on MGW and use that money to improve the wingers

The starting wide forwards will be Foden and Marmoush. Backed up by Dolu and Savihno. Both Foden and Marmoush bring goals. Savihno and Roku bring direct dribbling and assists.

Its actually quite the formidable 4-some. And this doesn't even account for Bobb and his potential.

Central midfield needs one young excellent playmaker ( this could very well be Bobb or Echeveri) or another excellent player to lead the creative impetus on the team.

That's how i see us in future. Playing with 3 attackers. Marmooush, Halaand, Fosen with 3 CMs. Rodri, Gonzo/Kova and an AM behind the front 3.

If we don't get Wirtz or any creative type, I'd rather we consider attacking full backs on both sides and play with 3 CMs - Rodri, Gonzo and Kova ( or one of Gundo, Bernie or Rico) with high flying fullbacks and inside wide players woith lots of goals in them.

I think we already have lots of the needed personnel in house.

We could be linked with bringing Phil Jones out of retirement and some on here would spin it as being a good signing as long as he was a squad player.

MGW, is 52nd in the league for XGI, that is expected goals and assists combined. Not even close to being elite numbers but would cost the sort of money you would expect from an elite player.

He'd cost a lot more than Marmoush did, let that sink in.

I honestly don't know what he does.

Doesn't score goals, doesn't create many opportunities, doesn't dictate the play and he lacked any drive and energy tonight, a very lazy performance.

I keep seeing City fans say that he isn't the De Bruyne replacement, he's the Gundogan replacement. How? He's absolutely nowhere near the levels of prime Gundogan. We need players that have a high football intelligence to play in our midfield.

The games I've seen him, he's been playing as the number 10. He would be completely out of his depth at Manchester City. He's just not good enough for us at all.

Even Forest fans seem more than happy to see him leave. Says all you need to know really.

Please don't sign him City, we will massively regret it.

I agree, our signings in general since Haaland have been average or no where near the level of previous players

In terms of Gibbs White I actually think grealish is a better player in the same position

I’d potentially be ok with this, but not totally convinced Foden is a wide player. Or that Pep will go this way. Although Foden hasnt always convinced centrally either so its a possibility I guess. The other issue would be we’d then need a top top level AM if Foden is wide (not MGW) and that might be difficult with the Wirtz deal looking dead in the water… Who else, Palmer maybe?

If Foden is central, we could maybe look to get an Eze/Raphinha/Rodrygo/Mbuemo/Cherki/Johnson/etc. Who else is getable?

Nobody had a go at us for buying Nico Gonzales but he’s not anywhere as good as MGW.

Most importantly, he looks to play a forward pass, not be on the end of them, most of our 10’s or forwards that we’ll have next season like to make runs and literally nobody is playing those passes into them. Far too safe from Gundogan, Bernardo etc.

He’s got legs, stamina and he’s dragged Forrest to the brink of champions league qualification. He’s a very good player.

Because we don’t go for the obvious players. We looking for some average players who can play several positions but none with the potential to be world class at.

It starts with players like Cherki, Baena, Diomande, Vanderson who are interesting but not interesting enough for the board . Meanwhile we chase MGW because of the HG-rule. 100M for another guy who will end up on the bench.

Where have you got these stats from?

Saying his expected goals at 4.53 is very high means nothing without context. Paqueta has been very poor this season. What is Paqueta's expected goals?

I'd be very surprised if he is top 5 expected assists in the league. That would mean he is around Salah, Palmer, Saka, Fernandes etc who have much more threat.

I'd hazard a guess that he is behind someone like James Maddison in both xg and xa
