Morgan Gibbs-White

He doesn't smash it from outside the box accurately. 3 goals in his career outside the box. 1 this season.

Here's his career goal map.
well he can get into those positions at Forest mostly through counters and vs defences that isnt packed by a parked bus. almost like a striker score map really.

Most times I have watched him play he has been one of the best on the pitch. I don't understand the negativity towards our interest in the player. Most of the season, the criticism of our midfield has been energy, legs, tenacity, etc. MGW has all of that, and he also can create and score. What is the issue?
His lack of technical quality
The fact that he plays for a team that plays in a completely different way to us
His lack of creativity against packed defences

I d9nt disagree with the attributes he has that you have mentioned....but if he is in our midfield we need more than that alongside him and I dint see us buying 3 midfielders

Really hope he signs, smashes it with us and Wirtz fails to impress at Liverpool. Meanwhile all those who slagged the club off for failing to sign someone who didn’t want to come realise that watching players in you tube isn’t all it’s cracked up to be.

Grealish in 2nd gear is a better player than gibbs-white will ever be.

unfortunately he has lost his way seemingly off the field, but Jack hasn't damaged English players reputation with cityy fans
He clearly has seeing as nobody rates MGW even though he’s a decent player

He’s a very Klopp player. Loads of energy , good technically but can smash it from outside the box but can press constantly. Same as Reijnders he’s similar. Midfield is giving the feel of a Klopp midfield.
One that constantly has long balls out to the wings played over it's heads ?

If I look at him as a "profile", I think with the outgoings, he does give us 4 main things that are desireable and make him worth going for, and he has attributes that alot of our older prime players have.

1) Homegrown, unfortunately this matters in the prem, not much else to say.

2) Engine (like Bernie): He suits our pressing system and can offer support to the RB and RW by making underlapping or overlapping runs, as well as track back.

3) Right half space crosses (like KdB): Alot of his big chances created are so similar in spaces to where KdB crosses from, but he crosses to Chris Wood, so now he just crosses to Haaland. I think this is an underrated aspect, nobody in the club is even close to KdB at this, and MGW isnt as good obviously but as close as youll get.

4) Box Crashing Goal Scorer (like prime Gundo): He does have a decent shot on him (nearly scored a banger against us recently). And I think against the packed defences we always face, its a trick we have missed this season where we previously had Gundogan or even Rodri scoring "all of a sudden" when all the other players get marked out.

So while some may not like his play "stylistically", its clear he comes in to add quality in very specific, but needed, situations for us we have or will be lacking soon.

This will be City’s thinking. Is signing Wirtz for 150m really better than signing both Reijnders and MGW for £130m?

There’s no sane world where it can be argued it is.
Agreed - say they both come for 125k a week it leaves another player able to be funded from Kev’s wages and a chunk on the transfer fee as well. Building a squad not just a first 11

They will get WAY more than 125k a week lol.

He’s a very good player. I mentioned him on here after watching him early on in the season.

The usual posters are just doing what they do. There is nothing more BM than a poster who doesn’t understand the game and/or is a naturally miserable ****, wading in about something they know fuck all about.

The posters crying over Wirtz will have “watched” him by watching a YouTube compilation.
So fucking true. Some proper thick know nowts crying over Wirtz. He’s worth no where near his price tag. 2 midfielders available who will definitely improve us compared to a a budget buster that might might or might not be great

I’ve always thought he was a stand out player even when he was at Wolves. He’s a quality player but then again so was Grealish and we all know how much his career has gone down the pan.

Yeah such a bad career for Jack - won the Treble. X3 Premier League titles. Bet he wishes he stayed at Villa to win the "We qualified for Europe trophy"
